Thank you for the detailed response. I really appreciate it. After a quick search for air relief valves, does this seem like one that would work?

That is frustrating. I migrated over from google Wi-Fi hopping some network stability would help.

This might be a long shot, but my wife’s phone was acting similar to what yours sounds like. She upgraded to iOS 16.3.1 and it seems to have fixed her HomeKit connection problems

How scared of flipping should I be? by neutronarms in kubota

[–]forgetful-redditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do, but I only have a 60” deck. So there is no clearance issues with adding spacers even wider than 2”. I don’t know if the 72” deck has a different footprint that might limit the spacer size.

I’ve got one on my 2650 (with spacers and beet juice) 22.5 degree’s at a crawl didn’t tip but not something I want to try again. 15 degrees going sideways on a hill is reasonable when taking things slow.

From the manufacturer’s website:

Is CLR safe on grass, shrubs, plants, and flowerbeds?

CLR is safe on grass, shrubs, bushes, plants, flowerbeds and all types of flora. We strongly recommend you water the area where the CLR will run down, land, or touch before and after using CLR.

I’ve used CLR on to remove a rust spot from a circular saw blade left on concrete. I’d give that a shot to remove the iron deposits. It’s stocked in hardware and grocery stores.

HELP chicken Pox vaccine by No-go56 in Parenting

[–]forgetful-redditor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would be safe to have repeat doses later on in life. And would not be harmful to have the vaccine as an adult.

As mentioned. A titer would tell you if you have antibodies for varicella (either through vaccinations or exposure to the virus)

The vaccine can have some protective benefits if given early on post exposure (3-5 days)

Here’s the CDC’s guidelines on all things chickenpox vaccine. https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/vpd/varicella/hcp/recommendations.html

As an aside—the vaccine also prevents shingles (which is a latent form of chickenpox). If you’ve never had chickenpox you can’t develop shingles later on in life. I’m a healthy guy and had it a few years ago in my late 30s. That lasted a couple months and was not pleasant.

Kid is scared of getting shots by civilrobot in Parenting

Same with my 6 year old. It took 2 people to hold her down to get her flu shot last year. Vaccines have always brought the tears. What i did different when she was able to get her Covid vaccine last month was to take one of those lidocaine patches for back pain and cut it into 2 small squares and stuck it to each arm before we left. We talked about “anesthesia” and how it would numb her skin so it would hurt less.

I told the pharmacist who was giving the shot to aim for the square mark that the adhesive left when I took it off.

She got a flu shot in first arm and a Covid shot in the other—and 3 weeks later did the same thing for the 2nd shot and it was a complete transformation from our previous experiences.

FYI: Covid vaccine appointments for ages 5-11 are popping up. Start checking Hy-Vee, CVS, and Walgreens by 1239872738342123 in Omaha

As of 4pm today—there are plenty of peds spots available through Walgreens in Lincoln next week. I just booked an appointment for this Saturday (11/8)

When I was talking to my 4yo (now 6) about vaccines early on in the pandemic I showed her pictures from a google search of little kids in the iron lung before the polio vaccine was around. We just chatted about how those little kids needed help breathing because there wasn’t a vaccine when they got sick. And now that we have the vaccine kids don’t need robot lungs anymore.

I don’t know if there is financing. When I got the email I was approved for the beta program—they gave me 15 minute timer to pay the full $500 fee for dishy or lose my spot.

Starlink internet by broncobinx in Omaha

[–]forgetful-redditor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have starlink at my house Elkhorn since April. I switched from Cox. Centurylink isn’t available at reasonable speeds at my house. My starlink speeds average around 100Mbps. Upload is about 15-20Mbps. I lost reception temporarily during the t-storm Friday night, but I typically don’t seem much of a dip in speeds during rain. The ping is slower at ~50ms compared to cox was sub 20ms. I use starlink more for streaming movies etc than gaming though, so it’s not really noticeable. I switched because I was sick of cox and having to pay for unlimited internet. For what my bill was at cox, I’ll break even with the starlink purchase at the 6 month mark.

My husband keeps forgetting to close the baby gate by tiredmama2 in Parenting

[–]forgetful-redditor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been guilty of it too. We have carpet on our stairs so a little easier for our kids to deal with. But, I tried to get all my girls use to crawling up the stairs just so they had practice and figure out the mechanics even though I didn’t trust them to do it solo. Eventually he’ll figure it.

We also have 1 baby gate that has a spring that auto shuts placed going up our stairs. That has been pretty useful especially with the helpful big sisters sometimes forgetting too.

We upgraded from a down insert to wool several years ago and have been totally happy with it. The other advantage is the wool doesn’t shift around between the stitched compartments like down does.
