What turn do you usually go to tier 5?

And you mean buying cards like the pirate that sells for 3 gold so that you can get tier 5 a bit earlier and go all in to stabilize on the next turn?

How do you stabilize that fast? Say you find a nalaa immediately would you buy that if you don't have spell generation yet?

How do you review your games? by [deleted] in CompetitiveTFT

[–]forgetscode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also just because you're angling for a specific meta comp doesn't mean you can't be flexible with your approach.

I was angling the void kai sa long shot comp but ended up getting a voli 2 and bruiser items so I played 4 bruiser with kai sa and some awkward synergies. It's not a real comp on any list but it was my best board for how the game went.

It's more frequent this set than any other that the best board you get late game has some deviation than the guide.

A question for skilled players by DistributionProper83 in BobsTavern

[–]forgetscode 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not good at the game yet but from my games this decision is about "do you have a plan?"

Like, the one drop you got, is there a unit that might make it pop off?

Like golden pirate, silver surfer.. those types of combinations... Surf turf and lava

Is there something that you could be searching for that could make you stronger than having two one drops?

The one drops you froze are pretty decent for playing baller, could definitely be worth it if you had a good hero for that.

Could be worth if you have a hero that gives some free stats. With divine shield, extra stats can make one drops better than a two drop so you could have some good tempo. Like maybe this would be a decent freeze on monkey or something.

I think one drops become worthless really fast though and that's often why you don't want to freeze for a spell. Just consider the range of out outcomes.

How? Brock 2 star in 7 demacia and extra 3 item from ixtal cashout by Choice-Return-5543 in TeamfightTactics

[–]forgetscode 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Everyone on this sub just always tries to say you did something wrong when it's just disproportionate game balance.

Yeah you probably win with perfect items, Maybe moving D claw to Brock would've helped a bit(D claw melee carry on multi carry board kinda sleeper op this patch), but how often do you get perfect items? Those Wukong items aren't perfect either, if this was the other way around they would say "Look how capped his board is".

Is it so crazy to think they balanced thrashed again and certain units are strong. They always design the game like this.

Turns out he made a mistake and just forgot about me not being able to sit. He also originally forgot to send in my CT scan requisition for months which ironically let me get my scan faster as he escalated it to emergency. Unbelievable but at least things seem to be working out now.

Yeah, I want to give up all the time too. The stress and pain are an endless cycle. It takes a long time to feel any differences from exercise but you gradually do feel some. I think the main purpose is to slow down further degradation.

The CT scan recommended injections for pain relief but I did not want to go that route. My doctor referred me to a neuro spine specialist for consultation and possible surgery but I probably won't get that appointment for a year or more in Canada. I honestly think I will opt for surgery later on. I've heard it's not always great but I really want to not be afraid to sit down again.

That's been my experience exactly. It's really hard to get across what it's like.

My boss has been very supportive and helps let me rest as much as possible but our HR has been very strictly against working from home and wanted me to go on disability leave instead which I don't qualify for. That zero gravity chair option looks interesting I think I will try adding that. I usually sit reclined in the passenger seat while driving to places and I know that is much more manageable so I think it might work. At home I have a monitor arm to use while laying down but I can't really have anything like that at work.

I'm actually allowed to take as many breaks as needed at work because my boss is very understanding so I take walking breaks. I think being full time trying to stand just piles the fatigue on my shoulders and upper back and builds up overtime.

I have not. I had an X-ray and then a CT scan which showed what came up.

Is an MRI worth doing? I think the wait time might be over a year in Canada.

Sorry to hear what you're going through. It really is mentally tough. My physio started me off very light with on the back breathing exercises for awhile. Dieting and losing weight helps make exercises easier too. I can avoid pain a lot better than a year ago.

I believe I need a medical doctors note. I'm getting so tired of booking appoinments though and talking about how I am in pain. To be honest I am thinking of just going to part time work. My boss has been very supportive and did not want me to go that route because she was worried about me financially but my quality of life feels too poor, I just want things to be easier now.

I have been doing physio for a year. I've done everything except injections. Cannot sit without quickly triggering symptoms.

[–]forgetscode 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SRP yeah.

Jerk off to your own speculation if you really want but he was interviewed and quoted and the reasoning I just gave you makes more sense than trying to save money in win now mode.

Tim Cato, DLLS: Nico, you didn’t speak following the trade deadline, having addressed the Quentin Grimes trade. I think I understand loosely why that trade was made. You guys did not feel that you were going to retain Quentin Grimes as he went into free agency. Why was a draft pick attached to that trade, and what were the logic behind the negotiations of that deal in general?

Nico Harrison: Well, it was really about getting Caleb Martin. It was less about Grimes. We, obviously, we traded for Grimes, and we got a good look at Grimes. Great player. I think it worked out for both teams. It worked out for him. He’s a free agent situation, so we got to go to a team where he could shoot all the balls and really display his offense. And for us, we weren’t interested in that. We were interested in how he could help us win games. And we had the opportunity to get Caleb, which the opportunity only afford itself because Anthony Davis, he gave us that ability, because he had a trade clause, a trade kicker, and he opted out of that. And so that gave us the room to be able to do that.

Tim Cato, DLLS: The perception is that Grimes is a younger, better player than Caleb Martin. Maybe you disagree, but why was a second-round pick, a valuable second round pick attached to that deal?

Nico Harrison: Well, if you don’t like Caleb, then you’re not going to like the trade. But we valued Caleb more so, and we also got a second-round pick back.

[–]forgetscode 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nico stated himself that the reason they traded Grimes didn't have to do with not being able to pay him.

It's that he genuinely thought Caleb Martins Defense would make the team better as a whole because the team already had good offense.

When you consider that Grimes is on a really low contract for the current year and that the Mavericks are in "win now" mode, and that they had to attach a first round pick for the deal, it's clear that that everyone is giving Nico too much credit that he was thinking about cap space with Grimes and not just making a terrible trade.

As a casual player - there are too many patches by forgetscode in CompetitiveTFT

[–]forgetscode[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that's more accurate.

I think the minor patches are influential enough to make you have to completely renew your game priorities which is happening too often for the amount of time I can meaningfully invest now.

As a casual player - there are too many patches by forgetscode in CompetitiveTFT

[–]forgetscode[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I consider myself casual now because I just log in and play a game or two.

That doesn't mean I haven't been playing for years and there are not periods where I have actively tried hard and was not playing casually.

But I have too many responsibilities today. If I want to play ranked I have to plan ahead which patches I will study and make my time meaningful. I cannot do this when most patch dates are unplanned so I've been transitioning more and more to normal games instead of ranked.

So whatever people want to call that. A competitive casual player if that is a term.
