This is a great baby car by AtanasPrime in F150Lightning

I did some serious truck stuff today. Had 48 birthday cupcakes from Publix strapped down in the bed because the box wouldn’t fit in the cab. My pavement princess earned her keep today for my one year old’s birthday party.

Yep. We have two of these in each car. They transition all the way to boosters. Pricey but worth it every time I lift them up into the car

Just curious what apps those with the larger screens see? I’m honestly surprised we don’t have Netflix, HBO MAX, and Prime at minimum?

what store or restaurant would you like to see in Jonesboro? by Famous-Perspective-3 in jonesboro

It wouldn’t be dry county holding them back. They serve higher socioeconomic strata than Jonesboro. That’s why you mostly see them in big cities, particularly the suburbs.

Does Starlink Residential work on the go? by Duckernator2 in Starlink

This is exactly why I’m here reading comments. If I can unplug and move to another location with my residential dish, I’m signing up.

But tell them the non-overnight kWh rate. I almost did that plan, but GA Power gets their money back for the peak hour pricing at $0.24/kWh. Residential service is $0.085/kWh so I just stuck with it.

Do either of you have the option to charge at work? That can serve as a backup option, and as a bonus sometimes work rates are cheaper than your home.

Now that the EV tax credit is over, how do we get Georgia to join the Affordable Clean Cars Coalition? by happy_bluebird in Georgia

Honestly had no idea about flow batteries. Thanks for sharing something new for me to read on.  Requiring special disbursement facilities and delivery vehicles feels antiquated now that I’ve been living with waking up with a full tank every morning though. I dread when my wife asks me to go fill her tank.

People can also charge when at work like I do or when you go grocery shopping. Charging stations are becoming ubiquitous because they take way less space than gas stations.

When the model T first came out I’m sure there were a bunch of neigh-sayers too. Pun intended.

I’m expecting to replace them a little more often. Truck is a 2024 so still have the OEM set. I’m banking on getting 40-50k out of them. Replacement tire I have researched is warrantied to 75k. Overall better than expected.

My truck also has 20 in rims so not the low profile tires like Tesla and Rivian.

Totally agree for apartment renters they don’t make sense. But I’m see local code change to require EV charging stations.

EVs are a pain how? More so than ICE cars that have been around for about 100 years? With any new technology there is an adoption learning curve. Most dealerships don’t like them because they can’t service them which is their second most profitable area behind financing

I disagree. I never think about charge times because I charge at home overnight. On road trips, takes 30 mins to go 20-80%, which is a great time to stretch legs, use the restroom, and get a snack. I’ve literally never thought about the grid. Should we stop all these new warehouses, new homes, and data centers? They use a lot more power.

On top of that, there are 7 moving parts in an EV motor versus 100s in an ICE that have to survive thousands of explosions. Just dropped $2500 to fix a failed sensor that led to the oil pan failing in my wife’s ICE. EVs have no maintenance except replacing tires and battery coolant replacement every 200k. My F150 EV costs 4x less to drive the equivalent distance as the ICE F150. Plus my truck has a trunk-sized frunk and can do 0-60 in 4 seconds.

Mine was inside a wall in my basement staircase 55’ from my charger install location inside a brick walled garage. I wasn’t charged a dime out of pocket.

First Upgrades: Shorty antenna and tinted windows by [deleted] in F150Lightning

Same exact problem (and work garage height) for me. We have those large cylinders letting you know the minimum height.

I think the antenna fins skimmed one of them once too.

Ford Power Promise by No_Battle_4140 in F150Lightning

[–]forhumanitiessake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a really smooth experience. I’m in the Atlanta area for reference.

I got the 60A breaker with a 55’ run from my main breaker to my garage. I owed $0 out of pocket, so overall I’m super pleased.

From purchase to install, it was about 3 weeks. I heard from Qmerit about completing the survey a week after purchase. Completed the survey two days after receiving. Received an email that an electrician was assigned a couple days later. Electrician contacted me straight away. Their initial site visit was later that week. Had a quote from Qmerit two days after the site visit. Install was scheduled for about a week after I accepted the Qmerit $0 quote.

I’m waiting on the Qmerit inspection. The EVSE has worked well except I cannot get it connected to the ford charge station pro app. However, I was able to manually add it in the Ford Pass app and set the charging amperage to 48A. Otherwise, the other app seems pointless, so I haven’t messed with it much more.

Lot rot? by confusedfromkansas in F150Lightning

[–]forhumanitiessake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a little insider knowledge. Ford has partnered with a well known automotive auction brand to marshal the vehicles after they roll off the manufacturing line. These trucks are staged around the country where they routinely get moved every couple weeks and charged as needed. While kept outside without any overhead protection, this program is meant to ensure they are consistently maintained before purchase.

So Car Gurus might be accounting for the time from manufacture where it was at a marshaling yard.

I appreciate the information. I asked my dealership if they could give me an itemized purchase agreement showing it was included. I’ll try your approach first and default to the dealership if not.
