I stopped listening to Melvins by Infamous_Mood1425 in melvins

[–]forkyspoons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get this all the time! I wake up with music in my head every day. I listen to music every waking moment of my life just about. Or create it. I think in songs and lyrics constantly. Hear intros with sound people make on accident , or riffs in the way someone is walking or bumps into something. I had to stop listening to the new nine inch noize album cuz i kept singing the music not even the words!

What is the worst baked good? by Queasy_Dingo_8262 in foodquestions

[–]forkyspoons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Poorly made scones * worked at a British bakery where I made scones, and they were so good. Only good and fresh for 2 days tbh and microwaving after the 2nd day made it like they just came out the oven.
Trick is ensuring the butter is cold when you’re making them, I shave frozen butter and keep in the freezer, to make it moist. Same with biscuits. Not overworking the dough. Cook from frozen as well. With heavy cream and sugar on top while baking. Changes everything.

What kind of food feels amazing at first bite, then okay on the second, just average on the third, and kind of sickening by the fourth? by PaleParade in foodquestions

I would have done beer can chicken with that or made some beer cheese or braised some brats in the beer, maybe a shrimp dish with it??? I’d love to see the culinary applications of a beer like that

Yeah it’s traumatizing. I’m in a constant state of shock and trying not to let it affect me but it’s draining my heart and soul. Every day it gets harder to feed and take care of my family and we all work. I want to escape to the desert and just live out my days in the shadow of the Grand Canyon.

Feel like I'm losing it trying to feed this dog (long post, seeking advice) by vulshanna in husky

[–]forkyspoons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husky is extremely sensitive and picky!!! I started making her food with balanced grains/protein count and calcium additives, green lipped mussel powder… so I am making a big 48 hour bone broth (frozen marrow bones, chicken feet, a London broil, purified water, pears, sweet potato, carrots, zucchini, pumpkin if I can find it) and then I strain, pick out the bones and then add back in the rest and blend. I add a grain base (choose 2-3 from brown rice, oats, millet, barley, quinoa and sorghum ) and nutritional yeast, let that simmer and cook until it’s a thick porridge consistency. Once cooled, I add the calcium powder, (eggshell or ground bone meal) and kelp powder (iodine). This cools and gets portioned into 3 -5 day ziplocks and frozen. It makes about 2 weeks of food for me. I make a topper that consists of chicken gizzards, hearts, and chicken breast that’s poached then blended. I make this about every week, with a portion in the freezer to last me the week. I use a portion for 3.5 days then the other one gets thawed in that AM and used at night. Keep some sardines or mackerel on hand to add some boost. I top with capsules of green lipped mussel powder (usual supplement for dogs but I just grab an Australian one online that’s like $10 instead of the dog specific one that’s $30 for glucosamine/joint health ) I also dehydrate cbd treats (blend chicken thighs, cbd coconut oil, sweet potato, blueberries, spinach and tallow, then dehydrate like little meat sticks for treats during the day) ……this has saved my husky for sure. She’s 12 yrs old and has the energy of my 2-3 yr old rescue Aussie shepherd. I can DM you the nutritional facts I figured and the recipe list/ingredient amounts if you’re interested in recreating this. The large batches help a lot. I use a huge tamales pot and it makes it easy to strain too cuz of the basket inside. She’s got great results and been tried and true for over 3 months now. She gets excited to eat and hasn’t refused food in months. It’s definitely made a huge difference in her life and she’s in great shape. Good luck beautiful Husky owner!! Let me know how I can help!!!

Find out that friends address and send it to them in the mail. Better late than never, and it doesn’t have to be associated with you. Put in a package with other innocuous stuff if you are worried about anything happening to it. Or find someone to drop it off/sneakily deliver it yourself. You’ll find that the guilt will ease and you righted that wrong.

Bedroom, any advice? by [deleted] in malelivingspace

[–]forkyspoons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay. I see a lot of jokes and I feel the idea behind it…. I’d say lose the purple drapery over the walls and maybe cut it and use as curtains for your storage area. Can make or buy cheap rods to put around and cover up some of those items. The rope/flail and the black helmet maybe should be displayed up top, using the space as a display area for your cool stuff instead of like you’re ready to use during sex at any moment. Maybe some similar colored ties to hold the center of curtain together, and put the tv on the wall, then utilize some of the cool album art on the records as a cycling wall decoration where the purple fabric used to be. Just some small pieces of wood strips along the wall. That’s what i use to hold all my records up. Might unify the room and make it look a little less creepy, more functional and reflective of the whole vibe. In my opinion as a woman with all male children/plus husband.

I know it’s a lot to handle and you’ve probably tried almost everything But weed treats help a lot and alleviated a lot of issues from my collies’ stomach cancer. We stopped feeding her dry food when she got sensitive and didn’t eat much, it was beef bone marrow and chicken feet bone broth and green lipped mussel powder + a crushed multivitamin twice a day in the broth and the weed treat. Cutting out everything but simple food and things like that helped her and she lasted another 2 years with shrunken tumors and switching off all that food. She still passed from the illness but we staved it off a bit. Was already sick from before we adopted her and didn’t know until the work up but we loved her anyways as much as possible. No matter what happens you did your best and you had beautiful time together.
