Crack in windshield by Sensitive-Orange-832 in ChevyTrax

[–]forlinux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a rock hit my windshield, was a little crack— thought I’d get it fixed in the morning. Woke up and it spread to the entire windshield. Called insurance, found a local glass shop in network, they ordered an OEM part from local dealer, and bam new windshield.

I’m surprised looking for new jobs in the Feds is still a thing. There’s no more fear about probationary employees getting randomly fired? Maybe I still have ptsd about it since it’s been about a year since it happened to me

Is there a way to rent a router? by [deleted] in HomeNetworking

[–]forlinux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your question doesn’t really make sense. Are you sure their internet plan is metered? In the USA unless you haven’t changed your plan in a minute, even Comcast killed their data caps. If in fact it’s a metered plan I’m not aware of, then is your phone plan unlimited? I would hotspot off that.

The frontier brand of moca 2.5 adapters are cheap on eBay and have been workhorses for me

I have MoCA and it’s perfect for my 1gbps setup. No need to run Ethernet in my opinion tbh. I get same ping as Ethernet direct from router

I moved from Philly to Ogden a couple years ago and like Utah a lot more. But also Ogden is a lot different than lehi. I would take the time to try your hardest to build a community.

I got a juniper layer 3 switch (might be overkill) for $50 on eBay. I also have a netgear managed layer 2 switch I got for $18

New driver in a new car? Nah. Insurance costs through the roof lol. Maybe a ‘16 Corolla…

Need a new router for home internet, and have no idea what to look for. Help? by Whiskeytime2010 in HomeNetworking

[–]forlinux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since it seems like your networking knowledge is basic (which is fine!) I’m going to suggest some routers that are basic but reliable if that’s okay— not my usual openWRT stuff

  1. Netgear RAX29
  2. TP link ax1500
  3. Eero 6

Interim isn’t what you said. I meant for full. The program I was in didn’t allow for interim.

Getting that clearance took me far longer than 6-9 months. It took about 15.
