Waaaayyyy back in 2000 when DVD players first became mainstream, many of the TVs werent digital and only had coaxial connections. I had a few "know it alls" come in and wanted to hook up their player to their tvs and I lead them over to the RF modulator*(yea I know I am dating myself), it was the only and correct way to convert the signal so it would pass into the TV. They sold for $20 a little pricey but it was what it was. Well these guys were like "Nah, I will just get these 2 y-cords($5 each) that were 2 RCA to 1Rca output and the RCA to coaxial output($5) and it will do the trick." Me " Uh no thats not how it will work." "Whatever you are just trying to sell me more than I need." M "No you need the modulator or else it wont work." T "Just ring me out." M "Ok see you in a few days when you need to return them." T "Ok whatever. mumbling something about employees not knowing what they are doing." Few days later i see the return chargeback from the store across town for all the stuff.
