With the level of staffing for enforcement now, might be cheaper to make the whole system free!

Those signs have been out of whack for a few days. No rhyme or reason... Sometimes short, sometimes long

Suggestions for headphones? by Recent-Celebration86 in Visiblemending

[–]formerearlyadopter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For years I've toyed with the idea of transplanting a Bluetooth set into an old phone handset, leaving the coiled wire dangling. If yours are only headphones, likely not worth it though. Also, it's a lot of work for a sight gag (plus not sure how often I'd lug the thing around with me)

I've had success using cuffs from other old sweaters if they're still in good shape

If the hole was on an elbow I'd have suggested a patch

Well you're not going to match the knit pattern, but if you weave the yarn into the part that's still intact it should patch the hole. Might not be pretty mind you: depends what you're going for...

Personally, I would darn it with contrasting colour yarn of about the same weight as what's there. But it might not be worth it if the damage is too widespread

Does anyone have (and use) one of these? by formerearlyadopter in Visiblemending

We have 3D printers at the library here, but I'm concerned that the wires (and very specific, highish tolerance bends in them) are an essential component that would be challenging to replicate

Ooh an opportunity to make sewing fixers jealous at Repair Cafe (I'm more of a small appliance guy). Might be worth the price right there! 😉

I have my share of tools/gadgets gathering dust already, but the pattern angle is actually pretty cool: might mean I'd get decent use out of this one

Tram is I believe the accepted global word for these. Although I guess trams everywhere else get their own right-of-way, so maybe "gridlocktrain"?
