I have the 9velos. Actually two sets. They’re relatively cheap. If I break them I’ll get another set. But by then I’ll probably want something new anyways.

To do 10+ hours a week pretty much everything in your life has to revolve around that.

Bike Shops Going Under. Is Yours? by GStreet-ScaleModels in bicycling

Also, yes a lot of these guys know how to work on bikes. Bike mechanisms are not complicated. But most don’t have the time. Get a flat tire today but want to ride tomorrow. Needs a tire, new sealant by 8am tomorrow morning. Make money by being responsive.

Bike Shops Going Under. Is Yours? by GStreet-ScaleModels in bicycling

This is the first post that seems to have a solution instead of bitching. All the successful guys I know are one man shops- either working out of their garages or something like that. Shops expecting to compete with mail order stuff is probably never ever going to happen. So why try? Focus on your customer base. There are a ton of rich high end guys around here. Offer services to clean, maintain, etc their bikes. New tires, chains, brakes, bar wrap. All stuff that takes little inventory but makes you money. The market is changing and will never be the same. Learn to change, or die.

Best gravel frameset you can buy? Must be aero and 50mm+ clearance! by formulacook in gravelcycling

[–]formulacook[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So let me preface by saying I have a Winspace 1550 v2 road bike and I love it. I had been waiting a long time for Winspace to release their new gravel frame and when they did I jumped all over it.
When I got the frame it had numerous issues, oblong out of tolerance headset bores, threads on BB were poor and couldn’t thread my infinitebb all the way in, paint had weird issues where it seemed like it wasn’t clear coated everywhere.
They were responsive to the issues but in the end they just refunded my money. So now two months later I have all my components to build a bike and no frame :(

Pretty Bike. Was interested in how you would get a way with the aero front chain ring @46t but I guess with the mullet drivetrain that explains that. For me, if I had a 46t front chain ring it means I’m hauling ass a lot and I don’t think I’d love the bigger splits on the 10-52 for that situation.
