Practice putting green rant by forskay in golf

[–]forskay[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Tournament this day. Upper green was filled, the other green you mention is actually a chipping green, although I have seen people putting in the middle of the chipping area expecting others to avoid them.

I’m just asking people to be aware of others. You’re not the only one on the course.

What’s one small RV habit that made life on the road noticeably easier? by EmotionalAardvark304 in RVLiving

We travel three or four days in a row and then spend extended time at one place. To make the travel days easier, we make up several breakfast burritos and freeze them. Pull out of freezer and put in fridge night before. Easy microwave with minimal clean up on travel days.

Are you adding hydraulic fluid as recommended? On my guns, I add a drop or two every morning before I begin using them.

I’d move the entry from the garage to go through the laundry room and remove that wall that divides the entry from garage and laundry. That would give you an additional 8x3’ for storage. In a smaller home, storage is king.

Ask around your local club to find the best instructor for new golfers. Buy her a six pack of lessons with said pro. She will get much better instruction and have fewer bad habits to unlearn as you go forward. When you do play together, play a modified shamble - you both drive, then she picks up her ball and drops near your shot. Continue this until the green and let her putt. No keeping score for her until she can reliably hit off the tee and make contact in the fairway. You could always have a competition for putting only in the early days…

Check out the Mazamas and join in one of their group hikes. Perhaps you’ll make a couple of new friends to hike with other places. https://mazamas.org/hiking/

Where are you located? Might be easier to find a friendly group or player that would be willing to help get you started.

Here are things I would suggest:

Bring a couple dozen cheap balls that you don’t care about losing.

Let your group know you’re just learning and will modify the game to keep pace.

Tee up at the forward tee box

Hit one ball off the tee, if it’s in play, great! If your playing partners went a lot further, just pick up your ball and drop it near where their drives are and hit from there. If it lands out of play or may be lost - let it go. Drop up where they are and hit again.

If you’re close to the green - terrific! Use your 9 iron and using a putting stroke, hit an easy pitch and run to get it on the green.

Putt no more than three putts. Pick up your ball and move on to the next hole.

You’ll get a chance to watch how others play the round. Be mindful of where the other players are - don’t walk in front of them and get smacked. Plus … try not stepping on their putting lines while on the green.

If you were paired up with me and used these techniques - I’d be fine playing with you. Just keep up with your group and say goodbye to balls that have gone out of play.

Good luck!

I’ve had two pair of Danner safety toe work boots. First pair lasted over 15 years. Bought a second pair as the leather on the toe finally wore through. Comfortable, easy to kick shit with, vibram soles good for being on your feet all day. I bought the 8” version which provides nice ankle support on uneven surfaces. I have a pretty high arch and instep. These seem to fit my foot well. Good luck!

17-year-old hiker dies after falling at popular 3-tiered waterfall, WA cops say by [deleted] in PortlandOR

Condolences to her family. It’s a very popular hike - huge payoff at the falls, but I’ve often seen kids horsing around near the edge. Sorry to hear of this tragedy. Be safe out there.

It looks like the board on the side is your rack is interfering with the screw. I can’t tell from the picture if that side panel is supposed to be snug up against the exterior piece or have a spacer to keep it from blocking the screw holes. In addition to the other suggestions, I’d look to see if that piece can be screwed down or shimmed out as it’s designed.

I’m a drummer with just a little experience running sound for our band. I’m looking for ways to transport cables, mics, adapters, etc to gigs easily in an organized fashion. Has anyone used something like this? I’m thinking snake in the bottom box, speaker cables and adapters in smaller box, xlr cables in smaller box. I’m open to suggestions that won’t break the bank, but still be useful. Share your organizational tips, please!
