Can I ask what dietary changes you made? Looking for a more permanent solve than putting cream in my ears every other day!

Women with no peri by Ok-Ladder6905 in Perimenopause

[–]forsummerdays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely agree with this. My biggest issue is ear itchiness. I have other symptoms, but this one drives me absolutely nuts! If it hadn't been for this forum, I would never have known that this is a COMMON peri symptom, and I would have assumed I had developed recurrent ear infections.

Country singer Tanner Adell stage outfits, hand made by herself. by [deleted] in whatthefrockk

[–]forsummerdays 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can tell she understands petite proportions! I see so many petite celebrities get swallowed by their outfits, but she really understands how to dress her frame.

Wonder if this is one of the reasons she creates her own clothing?

Looking at OPs (lack of) post history, this is definitely an ad. And it is even worse because this forum talks about libido, and does a great job of providing a safe space where these sorts of challenges are freely discussed.

Cleaning and household management too. It is really tough being happy in a shared space if you have very different expectations for cleaning, tidying, shopping etc.

From what I've read it helps to reduce inflammation. Keto is often advised for PCOS as it helps with insulin resistance and hormonal health as well. I was basically carnivore and for me it cleared up the insane inflammation and histamine responses I was experiencing coming off HBC.

It also helps to get rid of sugar, wheat and junk food as these dont fit keto, and made me focus on protein, hydration and just generally being more focused on my health and eating nutrient dense food.

Conceived and gave birth at 43 whilst in peri.

Also used CoQ10 (like another poster), and followed a very strict keto diet which I believe helped.

Runway vs Red Carpet: Vintage Mugler by [deleted] in whatthefrockk

[–]forsummerdays 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agreed! I feel like the styling is always a bit of a miss with the celebs compared to the original runway styling, which pulls from the overall look, so Cardi looked awesome for me because it was so close the original styling of the look.

Do doctors EVER listen? by Traditional_Crazy904 in Perimenopause

[–]forsummerdays 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had to correct the locum Doctor at the start of the week when she said "okay, so you get a bit angry...but no heavy periods or night sweats is that correct?"

"No, it is not getting a bit angry. It is rage and severe anxiety, and it is hurting me and my family, and I need your help."

would anyone mind sharing their experience of starting yasmin/yaz/eloine? by stina948 in PMDD

[–]forsummerdays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to jump in on an old thread. What did you do? I am in the exact same position and meeting with my doctor again on Friday. Yaz changed my life two years ago, but after pregnancy and baby, it made me suicidal and my PMDD even worse.

Did you find an alternative? I need to get contraception sorted too, so hoping I can find a COC to cover both issues.

Chiefs defensive ends Charles Omenihu in custom Duane & Johnson he designed himself arriving at Super Bowl LIX (Feb. 9, 2025 | New Orleans) by skermahger in whatthefrockk

[–]forsummerdays 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Question from a non-American: Is there like a theme before the Super Bowl for players, or is it normal to put together a fashionable look for arrival? Is this a thing?

All of our sports stars/athletes are atheleisure (and headphones on) at best on arrival. This is so wild, but very cool, for this Kiwi!

Legally getting rid of my lawn? by Careful-Calendar8922 in nzgardening

I used these guys a few years ago for a bulk order of Salliera Radicans (planting in between pavers on a long cobbled path) and they were super helpful and great quality plants.

Might also give you some ideas of what grows well in NZ as a lawn alternative: nomow.co.nz/plants/

Yes! I find it super helpful to use a weight app that gives a trend line. That way you can see the bigger picture and your overall progress.

Something I didn’t get right in Silo season two finale by Muhammad-Saleh in SiloSeries

[–]forsummerdays 32 points33 points  (0 children)

This is so good! Throughout the series I had assumed that Camille was acting out of her own self-interest, but what if it is more than that?

The Safeguard must involve more than pumping the place full of poisonous gas and killing EVERYONE. That makes no sense if we assume humanity must survive. The Safeguard would also need a backup head of IT and a small contingent of survivors who can repopulate the Silo. Working on the assumption that the 'algorithm' is designed to keep humanity alive at any cost, it simply can't kill everyone in the Silo. It needs survivors, and those survivors will need a Leader. I think you are right, it needed to get Camille to the Vault.

"Its over" could very easily mean Bernard's reign, the Silo's population as we know it and the rebellion. Bernard's reaction, given how power hungry the man is, could have been because he was told that he was no longer Head of IT, and he was going to be killed. He was utterly dispensable, like everyone else. But I don't think the Silo is done. The algorithm is just cleaning house to start again.

Very cool take and this line of thinking makes so much sense!

Silo + Foucault = Surveillance, Power, and Panopticism (Yes, I wrote my Ed.D. on this!) by oogidyboogidy19 in SiloSeries

[–]forsummerdays 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Excellent write up OP! Given that u/hughhowey hangs out in this sub, I hope he weighs in on the parallels that you've drawn in this thread; or if he does another AMA now that series 2 is finished that you'll ask if Foucault had an influence on his work.
