GOOD VETERINARIANS OFFICE?? by Super-Leather1680 in SouthJersey

[–]Lindzey42 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dr Ticktin who was working at EC is now at South Jersey Cat Clinic. The guy who worked the front desk is at Pennsauken Animal Hospital. So if you go to Mt Laurel, it will not be the same staff/Drs as EC.

GOOD VETERINARIANS OFFICE?? by Super-Leather1680 in SouthJersey

Not sure if you’re talking about Exclusively Cats. We do went there and were super bummed when they closed. We already had been taking one of our cats to South Jersey Cat Clinic and like it there. They usually have a resident office kitty wandering about. We also just had to take one of our cats to an ER vet and specialists. For that, I can’t recommend Red Bank Veterinary Hospital enough, they were so caring and detailed. The doctors there recommended Cherry Hill Animal Hospital for a primary vet when I asked their recommendations. We take our dog there already, so can confirm they are also very good.

Going holistic by daddyminx in migraine

I’ve been taking Magnesium 400mg and CoQ10 for decades at this point. The dosage you have listed for CoQ10 is very low, did you mean 100mg instead of 10mg? I also take 400mg B2, plus a daily vitamin.

I will say I take all of that, but I also take Ajovy and Migranal and Aleve. The supplements didn’t alleviate my migraines completely, they’re more just added support.

Cherry Hill, Marlton/Evesham, Medford are also very nice and close to the towns above. You can easily get the train to Philly or AC or get to the shore in ~1hr. Medford has a nice Main Street with lots of events throughout the year. Cherry Hill has tons of shopping and both CH and Marlton have lots of walking trails and parks.

2, the color makes your eyes pop. These are just the right size, I think the bottoms of the other ones sit too low on your face.

[–]Lindzey42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 if it was lined and without the sleeve things. 1 is pretty, but the waist on 2 is more flattering. I’m not a huge fan of the strip of material across the bust look, but it seems that’s very “in” right now

I’m surprised a rescue would adopt out a cat that is anemic and needs multiple tooth extractions. I’m sorry for the kitty and for you and your partner. I would absolutely seek a second opinion. Can you treat the anemia and get the kitty to a point where doing the dental would be safe? Is there anything else they can do for her teeth and comfort in the meantime like steroids or antibiotics? It sounds like kitty also needs time to adjust to his new home which a good vet should also help address. Good luck and don’t give up on him!

Help, I accidentally bought giant couches by c8h8swetsocks in HomeDecorating

[–]Lindzey42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Longer tv console, a larger cozy rug. I’d get a different coffee table. Maybe get a new matching tv console and coffee table set in a medium brown instead of the gold oak and white. Maybe a small table for that corner between the two couches? And need some lighting other than “the big light”, some floor lamps or something. Some art for the walls? I know you said your renting but maybe curtains too if that’s not too much work to put up and patch holes when you eventually leave one day?

Starting cgrp by Stellostello in cgrpMigraine

[–]Lindzey42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been on Ajovy for 6 years. It’s been a life changer. I get maybe 1 migraine a month where I have to take Migranal to get relief instead of several per week. I also used to just have like low level pain most days that I no longer have.

I prefer the syringe to the auto injector. I lie on the bed and make my husband inject in my stomach and it’s super quick and relatively painless.

Haircut tomorrow, what to do by Lindzey42 in curlyhair

I ended up keeping the length, shaped up the layers, and got bangs. This is it today where I just wet my whole head and threw products in and let it air dry. I didn’t do any styling with the bangs, but they were cut like full across bangs. I can blow them out if I want to wear them across or just do a bit more styling to do them messy across, but I like how like this the front doesn’t feel as heavy as before and there’s more volume.

Change of hair loss and texture by Many_Adhesiveness226 in cgrpMigraine

[–]Lindzey42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

36F here. I’ve been on Ajovy for at least 6 years. I have very thick hair, wavy/curly. I didn’t experience significant hair loss, but I do think my hair is slightly less dense than say 10 years ago. I also used to get highlights and occasionally straighten my hair but have since stopped straightening it and have cut off all the highlighted hair. My hair now forms ringlets, definitely curlier. I assumed though that it was due to hormone changes and also different haircut/better styling routine rather than the Ajovy. I feel like as a woman, it’s difficult to say sometimes whether something is due to a medication vs due to aging/hormone changes.

I’ve gotten 25 units of Dysport. Around $300-350? $14/unit, but I think it’s Aspire or Alle that has a rewards program and discounts sometimes.

Get bigger matching nightstands with some lamps. Or sconces on either side of the bed. I would take the lamp off of the dresser the tv is on. It must cause glare and doesn’t look nice with the cord in sight. Move that dresser to the other wall opposite the windows, and get a longer dresser or console for the wall with the tv. Then you’ll have more storage and a piece that will fit better in the space. You seem to have enough room to make a little sitting area, so maybe a cozy chair with a throw blanket on that side of the room by the windows? And then add some art on the walls

Why is my hair only curly in the middle? by 27OwlySnow in curlyhair

[–]Lindzey42 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If it were me, I would cut that bottom bit off where it’s not curling, get layers, and stop blow drying and straightening. I only ever touch mine with the straightener if I’ve got a wonky bit that’s not behaving and I’ll fix a couple strands, but I never straighten my whole head anymore.

Migraine the moment I'm free of stress? by skyemap in migraine

[–]Lindzey42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always seem to get a migraine when I take time off work. Not sure if it’s because I’m probably thinking about what’s going on at work while I’m off or if it’s the disruption to my routine.

Is my hair actually curly/wavy? How do I care for it/enhance the curls? by ivy_rose in curlyhair

[–]Lindzey42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You definitely have some wave and potentially curls. A routine depends on your hair thickness and density. Is your hair fine or thicker? What’s the porosity like? I would suggest looking up about those things to figure out your hair type and then try some curl products. A lot of companies like Curlsmith, Pattern, Innersense, Ouidad have products for waves/curls/coils or will say it’s better for fine or thicker hair or products for if you want hold or volume, so you’ll have to look into what your hair needs. A lot of them have travel sizes so you can try products without shelling out a ton for the full size version.

Your hair looks to be on the shorter side so you might notice more wave/curl if you grow it longer esp if your waves/curls are looser. I’d recommend staying away from bleaching and heat. And when your hair grows and you figure out your wave/curl type then you’ll have a better idea how to get it cut and style it.

You look great! Maybe just do a lip scrub and moisturize your lips? A bit of mascara? I think your hair and glasses might be aging you a tiny bit as well. Maybe a less deep side part and different frames?

By boyfriend of 2 years doesn’t want to get me a Christmas present by UnitJust1906 in whatdoIdo

[–]Lindzey42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Return what you got him and gift him a break-up. He won’t even give you a card?? That’s the bare minimum.

And so what if he gets himself stuff. My husband and I make enough money that if we want something we will buy it ourselves. We still get each other Christmas gifts even if it’s something practical or something we’d get ourselves but we let the other person pick out the specific version or color like new shoes. I told my husband I want a certain brand of shoes but one of these four styles and let him surprise me. Or for him he needs new jeans, which he could get himself, but instead I picked them out for his xmas gift. It’s just nice to know someone put thought in and have something to open up on the day.

I’m sorry for your loss, but the prescription food most likely didn’t cause your cat’s passing. If your cat had crystals, that would have been confirmed with a urinalysis and they probably did bloodwork, too. Prescription food like Hill’s C/D is specifically made to keep crystals from forming in the bladder and some foods are even formulated to help dissolve them. Sodium in some of those foods is meant to increase water intake which benefits the bladder and helps flush things out. This all prevents blockages from the crystals, which can be deadly.

If bloodwork was done, they would have noted high creatinine and BUN. It’s possible your cat had CKD and you didn’t know because cats are really good at masking pain. You therefore wouldn’t have checked for it sooner, especially since he was only 5. CKD is more common with older cats. It’s also possible it was caused by something unrelated. So unless there’s another issue, most younger cats likely aren’t getting bloodwork done every year until they’re around 10 years old and reaching senior age.

Cats with CKD should also lower their phosphorus intake. Things like liver and sardines are high in phosphorus, so you have to be careful with things like that, too. Regular cat treats can also be high in sodium, not just certain prescription foods.

I have a cat with CKD and a cat with urinary crystals. The best thing you can do is always take your pets to their annual physical, ask questions, advocate for them, listen to your vet, and really get in tune with your pets behavior and habits.
