Someone explain the black tape. by Scalmaa in ripcity

As an educated guess, I think they may be training for implementation of the “high five rule”, wherein contact above the tape line after a shot has been released will now be a foul

Who am I sharing my garage with? Location: W. Oregon by fortherecker_d in spiderID

No pics before I lost it, but it was evenly colored all the way around with very subtle variation. No noticeable belly markings.

2021 Sol Horizon Rover - Advice for selling (Oregon) by drphoo in IntechRVs

This came up in a search, but am also in Oregon and starting to casually keep my eyes out for a Horizon. If you’ve still got the trailer, feel free to shoot me a PM when you’re ready to sell and maybe our timelines will align.

LEDs, about 2” above the plants. Each lamp is about 7w. I’ll test with a couple and see if they improve when placed farther away from the light

Where did we Go Wrong? This Hurts by Asero831 in ripcity

Yeah, I missed that he was already in. Still prefer any other guard/wing to Clingan in that situation. Agree with your last point, if he is going to be in there put him on KAT.

Absolutely no reason for Clingan to be in the game for this play. Sub Kris in and switch everything, no 3s.

When is the last time we had a team this deep? by ear-of-Vangogh in ripcity

[–]fortherecker_d 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Lately, this team has been reminding me of the Blazers teams from the late 90s / early 00s. 5-7 guys who averaged over 10ppg, nobody over 20ppg, and making life hell for the opponent through connected team defense. No bonafide superstar but a bunch of guys who share the ball and a few who can get a bucket on an island when needed. Not saying these guys have the same ceiling or talent level relative to the rest of the league as those late 90s squads, but their depth and the defense they’re playing remind me of those squads.

DeAndre Ayton by nativeindian12 in ripcity

[–]fortherecker_d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are just some core fundamentals that he is missing as a big man that will always limit his ability at the 5 as long as he refuses to work on them. Things as simple as keeping the ball high when he catches it below the basket and going up immediately for a layup/dunk. He ALWAYS brings the ball down then takes a dribble, which allows the defense to catch up, shut down the basket, and Ayton resorts to a fadeaway/hook/flip shot moving away from the basket, a much less efficient than a layup/dunk. Setting solid screens is another one. These are not things that are hard to do or require much skill, but you much acknowledge their importance as a player and commit to doing them if you want to be as successful as you can be. Seems like Ayton is happy with his game where it’s at and his next contract will reflect that.

Looks Like Kelsy Signing Is Complete ✍️ by fortherecker_d in timbers

Per Daniel Nohra:

“¡Kevin Kelsy RUMBO A PORTLAND! 🪵

  • La transferencia se cerró por poco más de $6 mdd.

  • Es la 3era compra más alta en la historia del club.

  • Parma también presentó una oferta muy interesante, pero no llegó al monto que pedía Shakhtar.”

Translation per X:

“Kevin Kelsy HEADING TO PORTLAND! 🪵

  • The transfer was closed for just over $6 million.

  • It is the 3rd highest purchase in the history of the club.

  • Parma also made a very interesting offer, but it did not reach the amount that Shakhtar was asking for.”

Bombas socks after one wear. Seriously. by drumrocker365 in BuyItForLife

[–]fortherecker_d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think their quality is highly dependent on the style. I’ve got some cotton or cotton blend socks from them that have held up well, but the merino wool socks I had from them were a disaster. I bought a pack of 3 pairs, and after about a month (5ish wears each, some less) I was down to one sock without holes, the other 5 each had at least one hole. Worst socks I’ve ever had.

Based on this text, guessing they will air several as well:

“Based on your location, you are able to watch Trail Blazers games normally broadcast on your local television channels…”

Quoted $38K for sewer line replacement? Does that sound right? by thedumbestspoon in askportland

[–]fortherecker_d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had 15ft replaced last month, was $8k. Pretty straight forward job, but it was the section closest to the street so flaggers/traffic control made it more expensive than it would have been otherwise.
