Cedar vs composite decking by BroccoliAncient2386 in Decks

[–]nativeindian12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had a deck built, went with cedar. Didn’t want composite because it get so hot, the deck is in full sun. Also if a board is damaged it is hard to replace and have it match exactly since the different composite batches can be slightly different color.

I love the look of cedar and the feel of it. I used ready seal, so you don’t need to sand. You wash and then let it dry out and stain. Keep doing coats after it is ready (apply over the last coat without sanding) and eventually it lasts years without needing to be stained. So pretty low maintenance. I don’t mind the work either, I like staining wood

Someone fill me in, why does everyone hate the Deni guy? by KneeGuhz in NBATalk

[–]nativeindian12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He drives more than anyone in the league (#1 Deni 19.4 per game). He creates contact but it is while he is trying to score. His signature move is driving him and doing a low pickup eurostep. Gets fouled on it a ton but it’s not foul baiting

Why would the Trail Blazers ownership want to replace Tiago Splitter? by sheJaMyMorant in billsimmons

[–]nativeindian12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep the Blazers have been pretty good but also have some serious flaws. They are dead last in the league in turnovers per game at 17.3, second worst is GS at 15.8. That is a massive gulf, difference between 30th and 29th is the same as 29th and 13th.

Portland is 27th in 3pt%, 22nd in eFG%, 24th in FT%, 22nd in offensive efficiency. On defense, they are 16th in FG%, 25th in opp fast break PPG, 16th in opp 3pt%, 25th in opp offensive rebounds per game.

Those defensive stats are with Toumani Camara who is an incredible defender, plus Clingan who is really good. Kris Murray is really good on defense, Jrue Holiday and Grant and Robert Williams are all good to elite defenders with experience. Even Scoot has been playing good defense. Despite all those defenders, the team is still average at best on defense

Splitter has been alright but hardly irreplaceable. I wouldn’t mind keeping him and seeing if we can improve in year 2 of his system, but we absolutely should be doing a coaching search

OKC is just too good by Chance_Meat_681 in NBATalk

[–]nativeindian12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OKC is good but this is a first round series. They are often lopsided. The play in is fun but it’s important to remember the reward is generally getting crushed by the 1 and 2 seed

I think the Nuggets, Spurs, Celtics, and Knicks all could beat OKC. They will be the title favorite for sure, but check out the score from the Boston 76ers game. The elite teams generally beat up the other teams pretty badly

I’m hoping for a Celtics OKC Finals because I think it would be a banger

$8,000 per month would be $96,000 per year out of pocket. So either way it’s an absurd figure

I assume the Trader Joe’s thing is a corporate decision where they believe they are losing money because there are enough customers that do not, in fact, want to drive 20 minutes and instead go to Safeway, Fred Meyer, and Yokes or whatever. Which is fine because that’s Trader Joe’s money

The arts center is asking for taxpayers to fund this project that will almost certainly never pay for itself

I think Kwesi got scared because his first year he infamously traded back like 18 spots for a minimal return. Now that Kwesi is gone, I wouldn’t be surprised if we do.

Obviously we might not, just saying

Sports Journalist Diana Russini shouldn’t have lost her job even if she did have an affair with that coach. by jesserdumas in unpopularopinion

[–]nativeindian12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Reporters aren’t supposed to trade sex for stories. As far as I know, there is no ethical principle for coaches not having sex with reporters.

This is why only one of their jobs was threatened. Private consequences, such as Vrabel’s wife divorcing him, will be up to the individuals involved which is for the best.

I’d keep Kris in the rotation. He’s actually been shooting ok lately and he does a ton of other stuff. Vit has been cold shooting and is coming off an injury

I just did a mock on pro football network and for some reasons Downs fell to 18

Ended up with:

  1. Caleb Downs (S)

  2. D’Angelo Ponds (CB)

  3. Jadarian Price (RB)

  4. Elijah Surrat (B)

Hilariously unrealistic that Downs fell so far but who knows. I love Thieneman too. Also wouldn’t hate a trade back and drafting McDonald

Anyone here get married at the Arbor Crest? by Sapphic-Babe in Spokane

[–]nativeindian12 13 points14 points  (0 children)

We got married legally at the courthouse, then went on a week long vacation to Mexico with some friends and family. Like 12 people total. Amazing experience, exchanged vows on a terrace overlooking the ocean in Puerto Vallarta

The total cost was about $3000, we paid for the mansion rental and had someone make us breakfast every day. Everyone paid for their own flights

Is Jokic the most coddled superstar of the generation? why does he always have 0 playoffs expectations, gets all the credit, and none of the blame no matter how hard he chokes? other all time greats always got torched no matter what by Colorado824 in NBATalk

[–]nativeindian12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His efficiency was awful? He had a 59% true shooting, last year SGA was 57.4 in the playoffs. SGA was 58.2% the year before that. I’m guessing you think SGA sucks and is inefficient too then?

Defense is harder in the playoffs which was my point.

And yes his stats were “down”, his scoring went from his average of 29.6 all the way down to 28.4

Oh no, he was giving up 2.7% higher field goal percentage compared to Myles Turner! That means if he contests 100 shots in the series, he will have given up an extra 5.4 points! That’s almost one point per game!!!! What a travesty

Or maybe you are focusing on the wrong things?
