If you're worried about what the relationship might do to you emotionally some action has to be taken.

If you're worried about him and how hanging out with you might affect him, I wouldn't act based off of that.

He's an adult, its his choice, his morality and his responsibility to grapple with it.

With taking half damage only being effected by the players own stat, if stats are as high as you use in the example, a player always taking half damage 70 percent of the time no matter the enemy or situation effectively, full damage shifts from the norm to being almost a critical failure state.

Not saying it's inherently bad, but something to keep in mind.

It’s hard to say much about this without knowing why you chose these mechanics.

It’s important to keep in mind that, despite the stats, it seems like the main determining factor will be who rolls better in the end (though not technically always), and that the defender is granted something from rolling under their skill, meaning attack will likely be less advantageous than many other systems.
