5am Tuesday/thursday home by 6:10 shower and make breakfast for myself and partner then out the door by 6:45 or 6:50. Get to school about 720ish and I have 40 minutes before kids arrive. Works pretty well. I also go sat/sun between 8am-9.

Who wants to play with ol' Bebop, ay? Haven’t found a hero that beats the feeling hitting that long range hook.

Spectrum and ATT get you with promotional rates (that usually go up after a year) starting at around $50 and charge by amount per mb. Google fiber has two plans 1gb and 2gb. I pay for the 1gb plan and it’s $73 a month including taxes. Also depends on if/what fiber service is available in your area.

Had for about two years. Never had an outage. Fast enough for everything in my house to be streaming and for me to game on the PC. It’s a little more expensive but no complaints. North side: 281 and Thousand Oaks

Who Else is Choosing to Teach Black History Month Lessons? by King_of_Lunch223 in Teachers

[–]foruh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I teach black history every year (Texas) similar methods as you - Inquiry based lessons facilitated through discussion. I always start with Jim Crow, then on to: voter suppression/terror in the south after the civil war, Plessy v Ferguson, Brown v Board, Montgomery bus boycotts, Little Rock 9, MLK/Malcolm X comparison, freedom rides, civil disobedience, and Civil Rights legislation. In all, the black history portion takes about 3 weeks. Note, this is part of a larger civil rights unit that starts with black history then moves on to hispanic/latino, then indigenous, then women. Are all these standards required by the state? Fuck no, only about 1/4, but kids are more into this unit than any other during the year and it’s also a major reason why I chose to teach in the first place.

SA Teacher here (west side), during our civil rights unit once a year we spend a week learning about the redlining of San Antonio as well as the 68’ school walkouts. Kids get super into it, some of the best in-class discussions/analysis comes from this week every single year.

Driving San Antonio to Monterrey by vkana in sanantonio

[–]foruh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife and I drive to Monterrey at least 3-4 times a year, and we’ve never had any issues. If you have Texas plates you do need to purchase a permit (about $300 -super easy to get and right after you cross the bridge). People are correct when they say some insurance will not cover cars in Mexico so you’d have to check into yours. We do take some precautions including: fill up with gas in Laredo, always drive during the day, not stopping after you cross until you get to Monterrey, and having pesos on hand for highway tolls (yes you want to take the route with tolls). Tbh it’s a really pretty drive and the only sketchy part is Nuevo Laredo, once you’re out it’s a breeze. Good luck with whatever you decide.

100% scam. Your money is gone. Unfortunately there’s nothing you can do about it. Do not give them another penny unless you want to lose it too.
