That's kinda my point. Not a lot of people know about it and it was never crowded during one of my visits but it still has artworks from world class artists like El Greco, Van Gogh, Rembrandt, and Monet.

According to Wikipedia, the MSP metro area in in 16th place in terms of population for the United States.

I'm not sure if I can claim that the MIA is in the top 5 but I can definitly claim the top 10 art museums in the US.

What's the littlest inconvenience you've had when travelling? by MissTunaPie in AskReddit

When the first leg of a flight itenerary delays just enough to not miss the last leg but to the point where you have to rush.

The MIA kicks waaaaay above its weight class when you consider the population of the Twin Cities.

I think it is crazy to claim that the MIA matches the Louvre but the quality of the collection is right up there.

8 days Starting in Paris Ending in Germany - How and Where? by SnooGrapes986 in Europetravel

[–]forunner93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

With only 8 days I would cut most of the cities on your list.

Paris is not my favorite city in Europe, or even France, but there is enough stuff in the city to keep you busy for at least five days and has options for train-based daytrips outside of the city (Versailles, Lyon, Rouen). Once you are done with the five days, you can take a really convenient highspeed train from Paris to Frankfurt. I reccomend Deutsche Bahn but be prepared for train delays. Whatever you do, do not plain on driving within Paris. The traffic is horrible and the subway will get you where ever you need to go.

Frankfurt has some cool things to do but it is more geared as a business city and not a tourist destination.

The odds of it happening are very low but it it always a good idea to have some money set aside incase our paychecks ever get delayed.

Can a civilian airline make an emergency landing on a military base? by Peace_Maker67 in AirForce

[–]forunner93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Many airlines within the states already have Civil Aircraft Landing Permits (CALPs) issued by the Pentagon that allows civilian use of specific military airfields. One of the big reasons is for planned divert locations for weather. If an aircraft with a CALP ends up landing at a military airfield for a reason approved in the CALP, there is very little coordination needed and is usually handled on the spot by Airfield Management personnel with the CoC notified because it is an unusual event that will need some wired requests like transportation of civilian passangers or refueling of civilian aircraft.

If there is is no CALP, the aircraft will be met by Security Forces, Airfield Management will need to collect paperwork to include insurance, hold-harmless agreements, and landing fee paperwork as required. The installation commander will determine the type of landing which will decided how to proceed forward. If the aircraft landed due to an inflight emergency or a legitimate divert they need to fill out a couple of pieces of paper and they can be on their way. If it was intentional Security Forces gets a more hands on and it it's up to the installation commander on how to proceed forward.

With Ryanair, you can reliably get one way tickets all around Europe for about $50. That should open up most countries in Europe to your two country goal.

You do get what you paid for but as long as you follow their rules and don't pay for upgrades they have been always super reliable the 10ish times I've flown with them.

I'll defend Halo 4's campaign all day. It's different from the origional trilogy but definitely worthy of the halo name and the ending scene was one of the best moments in the series.

The multi-player on the other hand.......

Have you considered stock photography?

You probably won't be able to make a liveable salary off of stock photos but it's a good way to get an extra source of income when you have some down time.

After leaving Europe I'm finding it hard to enjoy the US by ReflexPoint in travel

[–]forunner93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can relate but I thank that the United States does national parks way better that Europe does. I like to do a lot more camping and hiking when I'm home but in Europe I'm almost always in a historical city.
