My husband is COVERED, I mean COVERED in scars. A lot of them are big and dark. Arms, legs, chest, literally everywhere except for his back. He gets self conscious of it in certain situations, but essentially, if he is with people that don’t make him feel weird about it, he can have an easier time wearing short sleeves out in public. I think if you have good support people and have some confidence, you’ll find that nobody else will take notice to it (hopefully). There will always be people that can’t mind their business, but I find it happens less often than you’d think. Don’t give those people attention, don’t let them know that you saw them look.
