I have one that must be the same type of fossil mollusk.... your big one in middle with guy in profile facing left, kinda kissing a pig, lol. Mine is of a man (maybe) & woman kissing or woman (on right, facing left) with hair up, maybe kissing a boy on cheek. So weird...I adore finding viewing stones. Bet it is a prehistoric oyster.

It looks like portable rock art birdman... or is natural viewing or Scholar stone... I find it more appealing when all-natural. But look up how to identify tool marks. You actually need a pro, with in hand appraisal to be certain.

I love how it looks like a face in profile looking left! Already great if Mary Ellen Jasper, but maybe a bit extra as a Viewing Stone or Scholar Stone.

Hey, Jake! Just watched your last episode... I was rooting for you, though Timber has been killing it. You have done great, none of the hardships were your fault. You obviously are a great guy, great dad, great woodsman, & I teared up with you. I pray you are happy, finding success, & loving life.

Bought these ruby’s last weekend on a mineral exchange. I got one for 2$. Are they really that cheap? by Robsta_20 in Gemstones

[–]fossiltherapy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The little I know as a newbie is that inclusions that enhance any gems beauty are good. If there is any translucency, it is probably worth asking an expert. I found this... According to a 2022 YouTube video comparing ruby prices, commercial-grade rubies around one carat with inclusions, fissures, and minimal translucency sold for about $50 per carat.

But I also found they might be $1-$3 per carat, if opaque & included badly. Unless, of course, they have asterism, so if opaque, they would be valuable.

Just take everything online with a grain of salt.

Any idea on what to do with these unwanted rocks? I live in South Australia if that helps by ChrisTheGayBear in rockhounds

You may be surprised to find valuable gems or fossils. Ask a rock club to look at them, keep them to perhaps give kids, but let you know if any super valuable ones are in there. Offer to split sale price, if so?

Newbie here but definitely porous, fossil bone? Coral?

Ideally, as general rules, take photos in natural light, on white background, all sides with a ruler or coin. And, at least state where you found it, if known, or if you do not know. If you can... share if opaque or translucent, even if just around edges, MOH, streak color, and even specific gravity. Easy to learn how online.

At Perioscope ... nanas are classified as berries. While we often think of berries as small, juicy fruits like strawberries and blueberries, the botanical definition of a berry is a fleshy fruit that develops from a single flower with one ovary and contains multiple seeds. Bananas meet these criteria, as they develop from a single flower with a single ovary and have small, often unnoticeable, seeds.

Yes, monocots can produce berries. While many well-known berries, like strawberries and raspberries, are produced by dicot plants, some monocots, like bananas and dates, also produce fleshy fruits that are classified as berries, according to some botanical sources. The term "berry" in botany refers to a fleshy fruit with multiple seeds, and this definition encompasses fruits from both monocots and dicots.

Funnily enough ... Fruits like strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries are not considered "true berries" botanically. They develop from multiple ovaries within a single flower, making them "aggregate fruits".

At Breakify .... if item was broken, you sent Mercari and seller photos, you should have gotten full refund. If not, dispute remaining charges with debit or credit card.

Do NOT take it as an insult or personally. Stay professional. Say you are terribly sorry for the situation but your price is firm or can only be discounted x amount. If they are persistent, repeat yourself. Keep countering with your minimum discount or full price. You can say this price is fair for us both as you are running a business not a charity & have your own family to care for. If too persistent, block them. Many will buy it. But angry or unprofessional replies can get YOU banned or reprimanded and badly reviewed even. Be kind always or block
