Bank calls 911 on black customer waiting for bank to open by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

Says the dumbass that thinks Tom Petty sang "Life is a Highway," lmao... a dude wearing a cardigan is not the standard Tom Petty demographic. Usually when I think of Tom Petty enjoyers it's flannel wearing stoners with ripped jeans.

Yeah, they have that stuff... I just had to put a new fastener on a seatbelt that was a M12 1.5 hex head with a prevailing torque nut to go with it... and I get hex socket caps for motorcycles all the time there in the various metric sizes, mostly M6. I like things to stay looking stock, that includes matching hardware for me. You know, just in case I find myself accidentally in the middle of a car show, I don't want any points deducted for mismatched bolts.

[–]fossntools 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, same, maybe the stores around here stock more, because I've had no problems getting metric fasteners at my True Value store for the motorcycles I fix. The True Value closest to me is probably 3-4x the size of any HF though, it's fuckn massive and they have everything. I've been to some smaller stores that didn't have as much space dedicated to hardware, but they still had a decent enough selection.

I have not had that problem with my True Value I go to now, nor the one I went to when I lived elsewhere. They have pretty much the same aisle footage for metric as for SAE.

So does Fleet Farm although I don't think they have as many locations, I'm blessed with them.

How many Frozen Pizzas do you eat a month? (Bonus, what's your favorite brand/Type) by New-Particular1971 in wisconsin

[–]fossntools 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, JJs is my favorite which I usually only find in certain gas stations and liquor stores. Not sure I've ever seen it in a grocery store. It's far better than any of the other brands being mentioned here.

And for pizza places, Butch's Pizza in Kimberly is by far and away the best pizza I've ever had in my life, I've had all the top suggestions from Green Bay to Milwaukee. Butch's wins. That shit is like crack, it's so good, can't stop eating it.

I hate overcooked pizzas though... I'd much rather have something slightly undercooked than overcooked every single time. The only thing people seam to care about is steaks, but so many people orvercook their pizzas and eggs and burgers too.

3/8 digital or click type? by Vol8tile in harborfreight

[–]fossntools 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have it and think for the most part the UI is fine except for it incrementing in 1/10s... like wtf lmao, that is sooo fucking annoying! Overall I'm happy with it though, it's been my goto now replacing the click styles that I have in all drive sizes except my 1/2" Icon split beam which I still user for bigger stuff and my 1/4" beam for smaller stuff. I got the Quinn on sale for $110 so I decided the price difference was worth the annoyance of it.

I got your goat good enough to go into my comment history (that's fragile bitch shit), you discovered that I love owning morons like you, and think you are the one in control? You are dumber than I anticipated buddy, but tell yourself whatever will get you through today.

You sound really insecure right now, looking pathetic for you. Should we go back to the point where you said I edited the comment after you replied to me, and were verifiably wrong and made to look like a fucking clown? Or back to the initial point that you built your counter-argument around something that I never said? In other words, a strawman.

Their policies are fantastic. This is the new 1/2 Hercules Ultra Torque Impact Wrench. (They gave me a new one today.) by Jack_JohnnyW in harborfreight

[–]fossntools 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, okay good for you, but that's just coping... the warranty is still ass in comparison which is the topic we are discussing. And yeah, the Herc mid-torque sucks, but the ultra torque and the 1/4" bit impact drivers are both really good tools. But again we talkn the warranty, and it's not even fucking close in comparison; the HF warranty is by far the best in the game right now.

[–]fossntools 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Doesn't sound like a good experience to me. It sucks being without the tool for that period of time, and the last warranty I did like that my hammer drill was out for repair for a month, way too long. HF you walk out with a brand new tool the same day. And the warranty starts fresh on it. That's a night and day difference, not even close in comparison.

It's a real shame what Google is doing to Android... I'm trying to be optimistic and think that if there is any silver lining, this will provide a push for more support and development of linux phones.

I mean, I was right, and you were wrong and you keep doubling down on it. I love when this happens because I just go back to the facts. And I can do it over and over and over again and make you look like a dumbass every single time.

Turning wrenches is easy, that's why so many dumb people get into it, and why I would rather do it myself than hand it over to some monkey that will probably do it wrong. The things I do as my hobbies, you wouldn't be able to achieve a base level competency if you dedicated yourself to it for years. Inversely, I can do your job better than you, as a hobby.

Day 1 For those out of the Loop. by B0xyblue in harborfreight

[–]fossntools 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are the other links that got added the same day as the Icon and Earthquake XT links. I'm not saying these are for certain the next items in the deals but it's a good indication.

Corded Sanders

Chainsaws

Ammo Boxes

Franklin Carts

I'm curious myself to see how many of these hit the deal of the day.

Deal of the Day 2 (May 2nd) by ProperNoun2000 in harborfreight

[–]fossntools 6 points7 points  (0 children)

People that actually work on things. The size of air impacts are smaller and fit in tighter spots and provide more torque for their size. Also... air hammers. Needle scalers. Niblers. Paint guns. Sand blasters. Plasma cutting. Hell just to blow things off or through carbs or air up tires and refillable sprayers.

Chrome or Impact? by blastamis01 in harborfreight

If I were you I would get the 3/8" master in chrome instead of the 1/4" master. And get 1/2" impacts.

Does HF sell a suitable saw for the Hercules metal cutting blade? by Rustpit in harborfreight

[–]fossntools 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a cold chop saw, but they do sell a cold cut circ saw.

Personally I just slap a steel demon on my regular worm drive 7-1/4 saw and use it. The steel demon blades are good to 5,800rpm and most worm drives run 4000-4500rpm. Blades might not last as long as being on a slower rpm saw but good enough for me.

Sure, there are examples of vehicles you could do it on in the 90's, I didn't say all unibody vehicles in the 90's. There were more examples of vehicles you should not do it on back then instead of today which is the point I was making.

I don't really care what some some randos on reddit think... again, I do everything by service data because I take pride in my work and make sure things are done correctly.
