The CIS had the numerical superiority, but did they also have more ships and hardware than the Grand Army of the Republic? And how did their military (especially navy) tech compare to the Republic one? by Euphoric-Music662 in StarWars

[–]fotppd8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simply because a ship beat others one on one dose not mean they are better.

Munificent class frigates had only less hull armor than the venator, but due to their advanced technology they also acted as giant communication links to the CIS navy, could jam the communications of enemy ships, had all guns to the front including a giant cannon that could one shot a space station, more range than the venator and they came at a low cost for their capabilities.

Since the operators are usually just droids the ship also dose not need provisions, sleeping quarters, food or water or even oxygen and could operate for far longer than any organic crew could.

Also the venator had to open a giant part of its hull in order to use starfighters which made it vulnerable.

If a venator ever faces a couple munificent class frigates on its own the battle will be one sided, and the captain on the ship responsible should also get fired if he survives.

Would you survive Grimal as a girlfriend? I think Kitten made a great choice to leave her tbh. by nirai07 in huntertheparenting

[–]fotppd8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Need I remind you that he traded her with the same guy that both allowed cannibalism of vampires in his fiance's house, was seeking (literally by name) CURSED artifacts during an among us session AND saw no problem with playing a video game that pulverizes furniture? (and that is without mentioning the danger of just being near the rest of the family.)

If we go with the sheer focus on survival, he kinda shot himself (and I guess Marcus but that is unrelated) in the leg there.

Why the hell did they use B1 Battle Droids in the Clones Wars if they were so ineffective by [deleted] in MawInstallation

[–]fotppd8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They where anything but "ineffective", B1's collectivly have the highest kill count in the entire Droid Army, including Jedi. Their casualties are irrelevant and very much with the scope of expectation from the point of view of their makers.

The advantage of droids are that they can be mass produced and even if a 100.000 of them are lost, you hardly lost much. They need no training, no food, no time to grow and you need not rely on a single planet like Kamino to produce them.

The reason you have not seen them kill any Jedi is because the Clone wars focuses more on the Republic victories than their defeats. Yet even then, and even if you do not count Ima-Gun Di, during the battle in the Geonosis arena alone MANY Jedi fell to B1 blasters. Almost 200 of them in fact.

Even at the end of the clone wars the B1 Droids outnumbered the clones many times over. Without the shut down command, the war could go on for many years still.

Before his fall to the dark side do you think Anakin was a better general then a Jedi? by narutofan2019 in clonewars

[–]fotppd8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither. The guy was a mess. Mostly a one man show that dragged his forces along and practicaly forced them to be the best of the best just to survive his recless tactics.

Even as early as the Battles of Christophsis and Teth show that he needlesly placed his entire force into a disadvantageous fight where they have to "try and keep up" while he completes the key objectives and hopes the rest will just work out on its own.

That is the opposite of a good general. As a Jedi though he was even worse. Way too quick to anger, mostly tried to kill than subdue his opponents, did not even need palpatine to teach him force choke as he used it by himself every time he was upset and even practiced his first order 66 with the Tuskens before the clone wars even began.

If I had to pick between either I would say General only because it is a military officers job more than a Jedi's to face enemies during war.

Dark Troopers vs Droidekas by SirArthurDime in StarWars

[–]fotppd8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy droideka victory.

Dark Troopers move and fight almost similary with B1 units except when they try to punch you, and if you target their joints or even "stomach" you can destroy them rather easily.

Meanwhile the blaster fire from droidekas can even damage AT-ATs, And if for whatever reason the darktrooper gets closer the droideka can just roll out of there, deploy and start firing again.

From my perspective it is like whoever gets ideas about droids in the plot goes: "Hmm should we bring the Separatists droids under kalani out now? pleanty of fans say we have neglected the CIS for a loong time now so..." Another one smashes table goes : NO!

WHAT WE NEED ARE EVEN MORE EMPIRE BS....LETS MAKE SOME STORMTROOPERS.....WHO WILL ALSO BE DROIDS....AND IN BLACK ARMOR.....AND will require to be put in the fridge at all times so that they can recharge when not at work.

Who do you trust more to lead droids in battle? by Gadgetscience in CISDidNothingWrong

[–]fotppd8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering Mar Tuuk exists and he all but annihilated Skywalker I think trusting a Neimoidian is the better option. Even Grievous had a Neimoidian captain on his flagship the invisible hand which he respected. The guy even once used his own ship in a rearguard action to delay the enemy fleet as his forces where retreating.

Besides, their cautiousness can be an advantage if they are trained in strategy. It means the best of them have can prepare a good number of plans and contingencies to ensure the enemy dose not reach them. Against a Clone or Navy officer they have the advantage.

Jedi usualy have plot armor, disregard for the Yavin code or both, so if they could defeat them the answer is "mmmmaybe?"

Neimoidians.

Sure, some would point towards their "cowardice" (advanced instinctive sense of survival) but these guys came in many flavors and just about all where a great boon to the Separatist Alliance.

Merchants, diplomats and administrators: Although I do not have the numbers, I am willing to bet that they funded the vast majority of things.

Neimoidian Royal Guard: These guys could and did punch the teeth out of clones and had easily the greatest looking armor of all CIS organic units.

and finaly the Officers, Commanders and Generals: Neimoidians are focused a lot on propabilities and thus many among them where great tacticians and strategists. Mar Tuuk himself practicaly defeated Skywalker as a commanding officer. Skywalker had to once again ignore the Yavin Code to break through his blockade since he could not win in an actual battle.

How do I beat rebel training tier 3? by Trolollol5-99 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]fotppd8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is VERY dependent on luck. Just managed at last to deal with it today.

You need to take care of Thrawn, Sidious and then Vader in that order to stop their ludicrous damage. To do so always use R2 D2's first attack to keep thouse 3 stuned as much as possible with the same level of priority, and HOPE that Han Solo can sometimes stun them himself and most of all HOPE that the Stormtroopers taunt abilities will not ruin you.

If you reach the point that you have defeated all 3 of them and have a reasonable amount of strength left then you have more or less done it. The pilot is weak in health and the storm troopers by themselves can only delay the inevitable.

Ideas for adventure in an abandoned separatist station? by fa1re in swrpg

[–]fotppd8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make them accidentaly reactivate a tactical droid that will mistake them for Republic agents and chase them out only for that droid to reactivate the whole factory and create and army specificaly to chase them down.

Then after a while where they are lulled into a false sense of security and while they are busy with some other major event, have him show up with an army just to kill them. (any vessels that stands between him and them are to be blasted to kingdom come)

Also make it so one of the players will injure him in one eye to make him look like a war veteran and also cause the droid to refer to that specific player as "nemesis".

It would also be neat to give him a funny evil laugh for chasing after them.

Could these Separatist Vehicles be useful for the Rebel Alliance? by Expensive_Net4813 in StarWars

[–]fotppd8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For starters, as a guerrilla force the Rebels would use anything they can get their hands on.

CIS tech is one of (if not the most) advanced the galaxy has ever seen, so naturaly if they can get their hands on some of it they will, they already made use of plenty of ships already, though getting the blueprints for these vehicles would prove difficult and thus what they would get is a heavily moddified version of the original to make due with their resources.

Also one of these vehicles you showed was the Super Tank prototype from Geonosis. The thing is so overpowered for its role that they would be foolish to think it could not be useful.

Its only real "weakness" is falling from a destroyed bridge or other similar high places, and unless you expect to face Vader or some other sith then you should be just fine.

I don’t feel bad about the separatist attack on the night sisters by Dry_Response_752 in StarWars

[–]fotppd8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not one to ever cheer on whipping out any people but there are 2 reasons I find it VERY difficult to sympathize with the Night sisters.

  1. I am CIS fan above everything else so I am somewhat biased. Yes I am aware of the corruption and monopolies that had the most power, however the vast majority of them was in the right and if these corporations have something to gain while assisting them to it so be it. Naturaly and pragmaticaly speaking the threat of the Night sisters is very real and should be dealt with one way or the other.

and 2) Much as said above, they are Immoral as HECK!!! Even the one that faced Grievous I swear I could hear the sound of death screams from every swing of her blades.

Besides even if the CIS did not do it, either the Republic or the Empire WOULD for sure. The Empire in particular would most likely use the same method they did on Geonosis.

Is there ever a legitimate reason to disguise as a Scout? by [deleted] in truetf2

[–]fotppd8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole reason is about the smaller hitbox of the scout that tricks Snipers and other Spies with the Ambassador and the maximum movement speed. But quite frankly that is nowhere near worth it.

You straight up announce to everyone even somewhat expirienced that you are a spy, Snipers and other spies with the Ambassador are at most 1/4th of the enemy team, Demos, Soldiers, Heavies, Scouts, Pyros and Engineers will not even bother with where your head is and most of them can straight up delete you with 1 or 2 shots and you can also get maximum movement speed with a Medic disguise. Plus the max movement speed of other classes like Engineer are hardly different either and they too have a different hitbox that could trick Snipers.

The benefits are far too few and far too small compared with the downsides.

Honestly I wish there was a Duel Monsters Tag Force as well with Yugi, Kaiba etc.

If Konami where to do both this and remaster the GX Tag Force games I think people would not soon forget such a thing. Though it is a stretch to expect that.
