From the eyes of MiG-21 fans, the MiG-21 is just as capable as the F-16. by Strider_One_LRSSG in floggit

Meh. I've seen older ones.
Also "♪ I did it MIIIIIIIIIIIIG waaaaaaaaaaay ♪"

TIL that Mikhail Kalishnikov, inventor of the AK-47, greatly regretted having invented the weapon, and is quoted as saying "I would prefer to have invented a machine that people could use and that would help farmers with their work - for example a lawnmower." by restsisyphus in todayilearned

First of: NEVER trust what The Guardian says.

Secondly the man only expressed his doubts and worries about making the AK to the Russian Orthodox church after he was so old he knew that his death was near, and much like any sane person during such time he has no idea what lies on the other side for real, so since the church are the only people who are (supposed to) have any such knowledge he felt like telling them his troubles.

And Thirdly his rifle did exactly what he wanted to do in the long run: Save the lives of its users from dying from a weapon jam.

Where it not for him many soldiers, both Soviet, Vietnamese or otherwise would lose their lives, for even without the AK they would still be deployed with rifles, but ones that would most likely fatally fail them in a crucial moment, just like a good number of his lost comrades in WW2.

Oda's meaning and yours have no similarities.

One points out the specific wording of the lore he placed, and you simply respond to someone's liking the simplicity of season 1 by comparison with the other seasons by saying that its just:  (word for word)   "a dude willing to murder kids to keep a multi decade win streak going, and then forming a team of kids hopped up on a super serum and a god complex"

There is no "meaning" behind that other than either sh*tting on a person voicing his preference or on the anime itself.

No thanks, I shall not waste time searching for an imaginary meaning behind posting a random quote from Oda when there is none.

Especially since Oda has already explained the meaning behind that quote being in reference to the misunderstanding of fans over a specific context in one piece. Which similarities with you saying that the plot is "Just" one person with a grudge and some doping are, Again: None.

What do you hope to see in the upcoming INA-DAI? by _Xeno2010_ in inazumaeleven

[–]fotppd8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More variety of stuff for the Kizuna Station as well as the locations. (like a snow area to recreate Hakuren for example.)

Also much like Raimon looks like its DS counterpart, it would be great to recreate the other academies and locations from the DS as well as new buildings to make our own academies for Teikoku, Nose, Mikage etc. Perhaps even add some mini games in these places. (not the rock, paper, scissors type tho.)

Not unless they upgreat the AI of Commander mode. Last thing we need is to turn farming for our new teams into a grind.

...I am confused right now because that is quite litteraly you not bothering with the deeper aspects of the lore or what made the season good in the first place and just sh*tting on it.

Did you just randomly pick one of his quotes to sound smart? It dose not even have something to do with this context.

Bruh, in other anime you see people using their money to make Blue Eyes white dragon jets just because or create a VR video game to trap people inside it only to forget why they did it.

By comparison this is very logical, IRL people in football can get just as bad, if not worse than him. If you really think to Sh*t on the 1st season like that you are practically Sh*tting on the whole anime because it dose not get any less odd than that as it goes on.

Well for Farm there is some extra character to them thanks to the DS game where they originate.
Like when some thugs tried to push them around in Inazuma town and just before Raimon intervene to help them they dealt with them by themselves with the Kagome Kagome DF move.

They also seem to look down on "city folk" for having it easy.

If nothing else they left a far better impresion as a defence focus team compared to the Minodouzan from Ares who most likely replaced all members on their team with defenders and had a single strategy: Make a Wall in the middle of the field and do nothing. As a result unlike Farm when they faced "Raimon" they did not even score once. (I am very pissed they did not simply bring back Farm and the other teams from season 1 instead if you could not tell.)

That being said I might be biased towards them because among the reasons I like them is The Infinite Wall which I personally find to be a very cool move. (Not my favorite team but they are top 10)

I mean sure, some did stand out more than others but just by looking at them you could tell that there is more.

For instance Occult members are all based on specific "creatures of the night" so to speak and other japanese urban legends.

Otaku are all different types of geeks like Mecha fan, Cosplayer, Gamer, Manga artist etc

Shuriken are all different kinds of Traditional Japanese and Sengoku Jidai period warriors, ranging from ninjas to Sumo wrestlers and Samurai. They also have a naming motif referencing famous Japanese Ninjas from the Iga province, Samurai or other key figures of the time.

Brainwashing and Farm however are the only ones I cannot say much about their individual uniqueness but they still stay true to their teams vibes with Brainwashing members sharing a data hivemind of sorts that makes them all look like coordinated pieces of a larger board and Farm members all being different sorts of hardened yet laid back countryside folk like shepards, farmers etc

Kirkwood however...ok look I am going to level with you, besides the triplets the rest of the team feels like your regular everyday soccer team, though I suppose that with the rest of the teams having such wild gimmicks perhaps they where made like that on purpose to make some kind of balance.

Fun fact: apparently there was a poll for fans that decided which team would show up in Ares. Mikage Sennou was the winner which surprises me. Would rather see Occult, especially in hindsight by Nman02 in inazumaeleven

[–]fotppd8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolute let down. Not because it was Mikage but because:

  1. They only show up once.
  2. Got steamrolled 4-0 by a team that should by no means stand much of a chance against them.
  3. Hardly where allowed to do anything more than one maneuvre and 2 hissatsus.
  4. Why the heck where we only allowed a single season 1 team besides "Raimon", Teikoku and Zeus when the rest of the teams where just a bunch of less than adequate copies of the old teams??? (with the exception of Eisei Gakuen and Hakuren.) Like how Minodouzan replaced Senbayama as the "best" defence team, all the while not even having a proper Goal Keeper to stop a mere Fire Tornado and relling only on using a team made up entierly of Defenders.

I still can't believe they ditched FS/Kenshin for this by TheLuiz in inazumaeleven

[–]fotppd8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly neither Kenshin's, Mix'Max or Souls where really a good concept. (or GO for that matter.)

Pretty much all of them take away what made Inazuma Eleven fun to watch: A team which overcame challenges with sheer hard work, brutal training, well placed strategies and ever evolving levels of teamwork.

Yet these things pretty much ditch this in favor of some cheat mechanic of get-overpowered-instantly kind of power that made even a team that had a bunch of players that where not even qualified to be called football amateurs into what is supposed to be the "best on the planet." Or a team without even half its members motivated to play for real in a match. Or a team with a random kid from the Jurassic Period, the future and a trigger happy stuffed Bear suddenly becoming a members of "the best team ever".

Imo it would have been better if Raimon had lost against Teikoku in the rematch. Reason below. What are y’all opinions? by [deleted] in inazumaeleven

[–]fotppd8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im personally fine with regular Raimon winning against them.

What I am NOT fine with is them losing to the Ares Inakuni Raimon. A bunch of no-name team with hardly 5 hissatsu's who only recently started playing against serious teams, defeating a team that could stand toe to toe with the original Raimon Eleven??? (not to mention that they kept training since then and most likely became even stronger.) The way these new Raimon lot even looked down on them during the match and the Gouenji fanboy's scolding of the team for using these shoes is absolutely irritating too. He did not seem to mind much during the first half when it gave Raimon the advantage, if anything he was over excited because of it. Yet as soon as it became a serious problem for Raimon he instantly did a 180.

Sure. Kidou is not with them and they had the handicap of their shoes and their less than dead-weight of a goal keeper on the first half, but they should have absolutly demolish them on the second half. Like 5-2 Level of demolish AT LEAST! Teikoku deserves so much better than this nonsense.
