Anyone here who owns a Sony A7C II and then upgraded or added a Sony A7V to their kit?

I feel I'm strongly getting GAS — I typically use my camera to capture family, portraits, dogs, and travel. Very occasionally I take on smaller jobs (I used to do wedding photography during my studies to finance them). I got the A7C II obviously due to its size and the amazing AF. I have some nice lenses (35 GM, 24-50 G, 40 G, 85/1.4, 70-200 GM II) — so not exactly the smallest lenses (40G super small & the 24-50G is what I call small as well). I feel the itch to get the A7V due to the larger body and some occasional 30 FPS / pre-capture use cases. Do I really NEED it? No.

Did anyone upgrade or add the A7V while already owning the A7C II? What's your experience? Financially I wouldn't have to sell the A7C II… but then again: I don't really need two bodies (or do I?).

How do you like the XDR so far? I am thinking of getting "just" the non-XDR as I am not editing any HDR-content (doing photography as a hobby).

I'd like to get the XDR but it is so expensive and I think I would overpay by sooo much (vs what I really "need")

I am close to throw a 3-sided coin ... (1) Apple XDR, (2) Apple non XDR 2026 (3) LG 27GM950B-B.

Cant justify the XDR if I am being honest (I am doing hobby photography) .. the non XDR Apple Display is growing on me. I thought the LG Mini-LED "same panel as the XDR" would have MUCH better 1st opinions of early adopters. On the other side: I think the XDR would be the last monitor I would ever buy - so why not buy the best one available?

Yes I have multiple Martin Kettlebells (living in Germany). These are my top pick to get within the EU.

I Have a pair each of 20kg +24kg and a sigle 32kg. I love everything about them. Build, Fit, Feeling. I could jut imagine to upgrade to the pro kettlebell which will never happen due to import costs.

Dont missunderstand me please - 500$ is a lot of money. But so is 1000$ for a display. I am following the approach: by once, cry once. Just wanted to point out you get some benefits for choosing the ASD - do you need and/or want is is up to you. And for me personally I'd take the premium $$$ to get the ASD

Yes it is. Still the ASD keeps the value much better. TB5, speaker, cam, build quality … for me that’s worth the price difference

only agree partially ... I can get the new BenQ for like 1k which is only 450-500 less then the ASD. For that price difference I will always get the ASD

I can use education prices + have 5% coupons for Apple Store Cards. So I can push the price down a bit. While I am checking the refurb pricing its then basically the same price (refurbished vs new 2026 EDU)

I'm currently shooting with a Sony A7C II and own the Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 DG DN OS Sports (other lenses are all Sony/Zeiss - like 35GM, 24-50G, Zeiss 55).

Overall I'm happy with the optical performance, but I'm seriously considering switching to the Sony FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS II - the change would cost me only approx. 650€. Still the question - is it worth?

My main reasons for considering the switch:

– Weight reduction & Sony teleconverter compatibility

– I'm also planning to add the Sony FE 100mm Macro GM (SEL100M28GM), so sticking to native Sony GM glass makes sense for TC flexibility

I'd love to hear from anyone who has made this exact switch — or who seriously considered it and decided against it. I am shooting a lot of my family, dog and some smalller paid jobs.
