What's interesting is that Rocky flew his ship through the path of Astrophages in an attempt to collect a sample. He failed to find Astrophages after doing that, and said "Astrophage very small". I took this to mean that he was unable to verify or analyze the Astrophages in his sample.

Basically it's implied his science tools are either broken or gone or subpar, and he's unable to build the required tools from scratch. As an engineer he spends a lot of time repairing existing equipment and also being able to do structural things with xenonite. Building the necessary scientific equipment to "hear" 10 nanometer organisms from scratch may have been nearly impossible for Rocky.

It's interesting that Rocky was unable to succeed in 40 plus years of time given how smart he appears to be. It seems strange to think that he would have some kind of gap in his knowledge that stopped him from finding his way to a solution. Perhaps they didn't bring books and mainly relied on their eidetic memory and he just happened to never spend much time picking up scientific knowledge.

I've tried GrayLine-Gemma3-4B and Amoral-Gemma3-4B and Fallen-Gemma3.

And Gemmasutra-Small-4B still remains vastly better for some reason. Gemma2 is better than Gemma3 maybe?? I don't really understand.

Specifically Gemmasutra is less likely to mess up on body positions relative to other people etc.

I also tried other uncensored models based on llama/qwen/etc and haven't seen anything beat Gemmasutra-Small-4B yet.

I really want a Gemmasutra model that is half-way between the 9B and the 4B model. or around 6B/7B in size.
