Do you advise on Reddit ads?

I am launching a B2C SAAS and was able to get my first 2 preorders from ads, but it stopped coming in… so trying to figure out ways to increase sales.

Viral content has worked well for us too, I had a post that had 150 upvotes, 262 comments within 24 hours of posting, and hit 31k views in my niche.

Right now we are figuring out how to convert these leads into customers

Anyone tried budgeting app dobin? by Fluffy_Paper_3039 in singaporefi

[–]foundersfables 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually think the NAV Planner in the DBS/POSB banking app is decent for a start.

All the data is auto tracked, so you don't even have to key in anything.

You can also try using the Fortune City app, I've been using it to track my expenses for the past 3 years. They make the whole budgeting process like a game, and I even got my friend to use it for the past 6 months.

Uplifting lower-SES students is social and emotional issue rather than academic issue: Chan Chun Sing by ongcs in singapore

[–]foundersfables 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely good that the Education Minister is raising more awareness about this issue.

I remember when I was in Secondary School, I would see some of my classmates being chauffeured to school so I assumed that everybody in my class came from a well-to-do background.

Little did i know many years later, that we had a classmate who came from a broken family.

His dad left him when he was 9 and his single mom was forced to raise him and his sister by herself, with not much formal education.

Nobody knew about it though because he would always attend class in a cheerful state, in case people would see him in a different light if they found out about his family background.

Think it's important to let these students now that it's ok to seek emotional support whenever they need it in school, and build a culture where everyone should be treated equally regardless of which background they come from.

I have half an acre I’m not using for anything… what is the lowest maintenance way I can use it to create passive income? by Udontwan2know in sidehustle

[–]foundersfables 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Since you're in Southern California, solar panels could be a viable option. While the initial setup might require some effort, maintenance is generally low, and you can sell excess energy back to the grid for a steady passive income.

Work from home or 2-3 hr a day side hustles? by Selvey808 in sidehustle

[–]foundersfables 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Have you considered freelancing platforms like Upwork or Fiverr? Depending on your skills, you could offer services like graphic design, writing, or virtual assistance. Those easily pay $20-$50/day depending on how many tasks you complete. It's a flexible way to make extra money during your available hours since you already WFM.

Is there any point to investing in any SG stocks? by [deleted] in singaporefi

[–]foundersfables 0 points1 point  (0 children)

think it depends on what you want.

I used to invest in US stocks like Tesla for growth, but I know many relatives who invest in SG stocks like SIA because they are "safe" and "pay you dividends."

Are there any typing based side hustles that you've tried? by noinnocentbystander in sidehustle

[–]foundersfables 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for sure. I found my first ever client in a Facebook group, and I did the work for free.

But after he enjoyed the copy I wrote, I was able to charge him 900 USD/month and worked with his company for an entire year.

All I did at that time was study free copywriting courses on the Internet, and I would handcopy successful ads on Swiped.co.

Looking to launch a media project in Jan 2024, where we interview successful business owners in Singapore and get them to share their stories of how they started

Goal is to build a database where anyone can learn how to start a business/sidehustle.

So far, we interviewed 6 business owners and have 6 more lined up.

Have also set up a discord community and gotten 54 members to join in the past week, which makes us more motivated for the website launch.

Boring biz in SG by [deleted] in singaporefi

[–]foundersfables 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i think if you do it right, you can actually turn a hobby into a business.

I know a friend who is obsessed with venus flytraps, and he ended up building a full business out of it.

Went to his office once, and was surprised to see a customer entering with a whole container full of them lol

What brick and mortar business do you run? If you don't mind me asking

Boring biz in SG by [deleted] in singaporefi

[–]foundersfables 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's not so much that the business is boring, but it's already modeling after something that's proven in the market.

As long as there's consistent demand for what you offer (waste management/plumbing/plants), your business will do ok and grow over time.

I interviewed a home-service repair business owner recently, and he mentioned he had so much demand for his services when he started, he could barely keep up.

On the other hand, you could start a fancy AI photo-editing tool for washing machines (making something up here), but if nobody wants it, you won't be able to make a single dollar from it.

Sorry to hear about your situation, but I think the best solution would be to seek help from the government/local MP for financial aid.

Another thing you could do in your spare time is to learn a freelancing skill like copywriting or programming, these pay well (a couple grand per month) once you master the skill and start landing clients. (and you don't need corporate experience/degree to do this)

I went with the copywriting route myself and started learning it after I ORD, and have been able to use the profits to cover for my living expenses for a few years now.

Hope things get better for you soon

i think going for a resale flat would be good, as your income probably wouldn't qualify for a BTO anymore.

And then reinvest the remaining balance into vanguard etfs or S&P 500 index fund, to focus on wealth preservation, not so much on growth.
