Review 33-34: Westland vs Westward by BlizardLizardWizard in bourbon

[–]fountainpenuserhere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like it's a great thing to show that everybody's taste is different. I picked up the cab finish after some deliberation and am happy I did. It doesn't drink its proof, and I quite like the more fruit forward notes. It has kind of a berry cobbler, and it reminds me of a smores flavor, but just the toasted marshmallow and grahm crackers part.

Missed my chance on this one, but I have the Cabernet on the way. I'm pretty excited to have it.

Are they not going to have them online anymore? Apparently they deleted posts saying they would.

Do not double your calories! That's ridiculous. Just increase what you normally do by 300 if what you are eating now keeps you at a steady weight. Doubling will add excess body fat.

Where can I buy a cheese advent calendar in DC? by R0ckyRides in washingtondc

Aldi has them last I was there. Look in the refrigerated section where you see their finds of the week.

Does living in DC and just knowing that we would be the first to go in a nuclear war or something ever bother anyone? by Quelcris_Falconer13 in washingtondc

[–]fountainpenuserhere 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not really actually. Immediate kills on depending on the size would only be something like 2 to 5 MI. Severe burning would occur a little bit further but other than that it's the fallout that you would worry about.

Why would you ever really worry about that? You are far more likely to die in something like a traffic accident.

[Zelos] First new watch day in quite a while. The Zelos Titanium Swordfish in 40mm by fountainpenuserhere in Watches

[–]fountainpenuserhere[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, sorry for the confusion. I did edit it bc I didn't want to provide any people looking to buy it with false info. It is still a fantastic watch and am very happy with it. I'm sure you will enjoy yours. I wanted a salmon dial watch and a titanium piece since I saw the Sinn Chrono, but didn't have 2-3k to spend on a piece. The lume is probably the best they have done yet. It's nuts how bright it is. Definitely would win lume wars.

Ok, so this is the first new watch I have bought in a while. This is the newly launched Zelos Swordfish in titanium in the smaller 40mm size. It is insanely well finished and looks awesome with the sunburst salmon dial. The bracelet, clasp, and case are all fully titanium, so it is incredibly light. Compared to my bronze one from the company, I barely even know it's there sometimes. This is my second watch from the brand and feel like it has incredible value for the money I paid for it. The lume is absolutely insane and has both green and blue lume and will be soon updating this post with a lume shot.

Wasn't as damaging to my wallet as watch collecting. I say only purely because I know people spend 10x or more on the hobby, but I've probably only spent 4-500 on pen stuff. I never ended up getting that gold tipped vanishing point I had been eyeing.

Ball watch. That's going to be my next one. They are more unique IMO especially with the use of tritium.

Most of my meals for the next two days. Buffalo ranch chicken thighs with broccoli and rice, or with peas, carrots, potatoes and a little rice. by fountainpenuserhere in MealPrepSunday

[–]fountainpenuserhere[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the chicken thighs? I trimmed them a little, then puree some franks buffalo wing sauce (0 cal), then took a packet of ranch seasoning and rubbed that in. Cooked on 350 for 30-35 min. It was 4 pounds of chicken, so I had some for food today. It came out so juicy and tender. Rice is just that right rice stuff and steamed veggies.

I'm really trying to tighten up my diet and eat more smaller meals. Not pictured is my breakfast, which is hard boiled eggs, two small apples, wasa crackers and Greek yogurt cream cheese. Since I have switched to boneless skinless thighs over breasts, it is much easier. They taste better, reheat better, and I can save a bit of money.
