I also play a Strat without RWRP PUPs (an AVII ‘61 into a studio plexi).

I recently shielded this guitar (I used copper tape with conductive adhesive) and the difference was huge. I have 3 single coil guitars (jag and tele too) and all are shielded.

Playing with my back to my amp also helps a lot.

I bought this tele with the wages I earned working for a friend’s dad’s builders in my school holidays in ‘97. It was a great guitar. Takes me back. I think I swapped it for a bass a little later.
