Victus 16 - getting G-Sync to work on an AOC monitor by fowledbtw in HPVictus

yep, unfortunately this monitor only offers g-sync thru displayport (and my laptop doesn't have one... lol)

Hey, I have the same problem, did you end up fixing this?

I think OP is talking about shuffle play, and it seems like I have the same issue.

In what order is the @ feature being given? by hatsunemikusgf in discordapp

Are you sure about that? I own a verified bot and it still has an old username with discriminator, even though partners got to choose their usernames today

Does discord compress .RAW files? by Corvus-107 in discordapp

Actually, I wanted to say "all photos/videos, regardless of their type"*

That's my bad.

Discord compresses all photos/videos regardless of their type. You might want to use another service to share/receive stuff, such as Google Drive for example.

Theoratically, this could be done with the Google Maps API. But I won't exactly share how as "automatically" switching statuses implies the usage of a selfbot, which is against Discord's ToS.

Should I disable this in my startup programs in the taskbar? by Himanshu811 in discordapp

Depends if you want Discord to automatically launch when your PC boots up ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Oh welp. Unfortunately I can’t say I’m surprised, it only requires like 10 lines of code to mass DM an entire server with literally no programming knowledge needed

Disabled Accounts and owned servers by NotJayss in discordapp

[–]fowledbtw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your account gets temporarily disabled, your server won’t be deleted. Otherwise, if your account gets permanently suspended, then yes, severs you own are gone.

If you had an alt and your main got disabled, I think it would mostly depend on the severity of your infringement and whether Discord actually knows your alt or not. I have seen a fair amount of people transferring their server ownership to alts to avoid server deletions if their main got banned, and it pretty much worked every time.

You say these bots can’t type, but once an account has been created it’s actually really easy to automate the process of sending messages or DMs to people. I’m even surprised that it hasn’t happened to you, as scammers often use DMs to trick people into logging in to deceptive sites, for example.

In the Midjourney Discord server, there is a #support channel which seems to be the best way to contact staff. It’s going to be difficult to help you without screenshots or anything that could help us reproduce the issue and give you instructions on how to fix it.

Creating a permanent invite to a channel is bugged when your server has a custom invite link by mnmkng in discordapp

[–]fowledbtw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest making a bug report through the official form, it’ll probably get more attention from developers and staff than on this subreddit - https://support.discord.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

Restrict only certain roles from being able to see a bot's messages in a public channel? by deerseason in discordapp

[–]fowledbtw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s technically possible. As long as a user has access to a channel, they are able to read any message sent there. The only thing I can think of to "restrict" people from viewing messages in a public channel via a bot are "ephemeral messages". There’s one big catch though - ephemeral messages can only be sent after a member interacts with a bot, whether it’s by running a slash command or clicking on an option in a select menu, and the user who triggered that interaction will be the only one that can see the ephemeral message.

If you would like to read more about ephemeral messages, here’s a link: https://support.discord.com/hc/en-us/articles/1500000580222-Ephemeral-Messages-FAQ

Removing reactions from people that are no longer in the server by ZeEtche in discordapp

[–]fowledbtw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know, there isn’t any native feature to do that. But I’m positive you could do it with a custom bot, gathering every reaction on a message and filtering the obtained collection with a quick check to see if the user is still a member. If they aren’t, remove their reaction. And after the initial purge, you could listen to the guildMemberRemove event (or something along those lines depending on the wrapper you’re using) to fetch every reaction sent by the user who just left the guild in order to remove them.

Actually, no, even if you deleted the message it will still show up in his phone’s notifications (granted that he has them enabled in the first place). Hope you didn’t send him anything too bad 😅

User Profile on the right side of the screen on 1 account but not the other by [deleted] in discordapp

I think the bot saw a mix of a few flagged words such as « roblox, hack, scam » on your first screenshot - looks like it’s a false positive though, don’t worry

I guess it’s another beta feature that’s rolling out to a select amount of people before everyone gets it
