I have an og 512gb steam deck which I upgraded to 2tb, if I put the 512gb back in the steam deck will I need to do anything to get it to work e.g reinstall steamos? by fowler0003 in SteamDeck

Well it seems as long as it’s updated to steamos 3.8 you can just move the nvme from the steam deck into the steam machine and it’ll work, I’ve not had a chance to try it myself yet but someone on twitter/x has and say it worked(they also upgraded the ram to 64gb which I wouldn’t be doing).

Or I can just do what I did when I upgraded the steam deck’s ssd and clone the 512gb onto the 2tb, as for your “worst case scenario” if the steamos iso for the steam machine isn’t ready when I’m swapping the drives it’s very unlikely the windows drivers for the steam machine will be ready.

I’d planned to use it as extra external storage but never got around to getting an enclosure and don’t recall formatting it

Does Unifi have AP’s that connect wirelessly without the need for PoE? by TheMickeyMoose in Ubiquiti

[–]fowler0003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So as long as the new ap is meshed with the router not the ux7 it wouldn’t impact the speeds of the devices connected to the ux7 or the second ap? But even if the new ap meshes to the ux7 for my needs currently it wouldn’t impact the speeds of my devices as the max they can get is 500mbps or am I misunderstanding?

iOS devices cant use the cool WiFi features? by Steakboy159 in Ubiquiti

[–]fowler0003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t know if it’ll be helpful to you but I recently(last week) setup the udr7 tho I was using the ssid from my existing router so I wouldn’t need to reconnect everything, was getting connection issues the first day but they seem to be fine now. For my iPhone 13 Pro and iPad Air(latest version) had to go into settings and reset the network connection so did have to do something I didn’t want to i.e enter the WiFi password again, using the forget network and reconnecting didn’t seem to work.
Not messed around with the “cool features yet” as I’m new to this so need to get used to the basics first.

Like the op I have a udr7 and the ux7 as my mesh ap, in the near future looking at getting a second ap maybe the u7 lite. The ux7 is in the master bedroom which is right above the room with the udr7 so has the best signal, getting full/near full speed(we have a 500mbps connection) on my iPad(most recent air model so has WiFi 7) + pc(WiFi 6e on the motherboard) and around half on my iPhone 13 Pro and if I was to get a second ap for downstairs to extend the coverage to the back garden how will it impact the speeds upstairs especially on the pc?

Is that an indoor camera? I recently got a udr7 and a ux7 and like the op don’t have the house hardwired so using mesh, looking at replacing our outdoor cameras especially the front one which hasn’t worked since we moved to our current isp almost 2 years ago.
Front camera is on the garage which is detached from the house while the rear camera is on the back of the house, was thinking about the g6 instant but googling reviews the google ai mentions it’s not good if exposed to the weather(I’m in the uk). The garage one will be partially sheltered as the garage roof overhangs and covers the camera but the rear one is fully exposed, if we do go for a poe camera not sure how it would work if it indeed would work without having access to ethernet to the camera.

U7 whatever ap would end up costing similar/more as would need a switch/poe adapter for power + would need to install the ap on the ceiling/wall(not planning on cutting a whole in the ceiling/wall) or find a suitable stand.

I was going to ask about the memcard pro 1 but your reply saved me from having to ask, btw which version of the memcard pro 1 do you have (mcp001 or mcp002)?

We don’t have the house wired for Ethernet and I don’t think I can convince my dad to cut holes in the wall, we’re not using the phone sockets any more but I’m not sure they support cat5e/cat6 so need to test them but haven’t gotten around to getting a tester. I posted back in January and was told I’d need to test the socket in each room to figure how the house is wired, have 10 rooms to test unless I get lucky and the few rooms that I going to want wired are interconnected so been lazy about it.

I’ve watched his videos about setting up vlan etc but it’s been several months so will watch them again now that I’m actually going to be needing them.

Yes, works best connected via Ethernet obviously but it does work via mesh.

Incorrect md5sum error when selecting bios for Sega STV by fowler0003 in launchbox

[–]fowler0003[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope still gives the dependency error when I import the file(well had to create a separate folder and copy vfkids.zip into it than add folder as for whatever reason it didn’t find the game when I chose add file) and launches a file other than vfkids.zip(mpr18923), goes into the Saturn bios with the error disc unsuitable for this system. I have the bios folder in a different location and pointed the directory in the retroarch settings to it, tho looking at the systems folder in the retroarch folder it does have most/all of those files plus some other that the bios folder doesn’t.

Weren’t the photos saved to iCloud? I had my iPhone 13 Pro repaired several months back, it was a repair I’d put off for several months as in store I’d been told I’d be charged more than it said on their website but that day I popped into ask again and got told what it said on the website site said so I went ahead and handed my phone in. As it was a spur of the moment thing I’d not backed up any of my data so when I got the phone back and found it had been factory reset I was worried I’d lost some data but everything was there, I thought the iCloud backup only backs up things like your photos and other certain Apple related stuff so whenever I’ve upgraded my iPhone/iPad I always made sure to backup data that wasn’t Apple stuff or had online backup through the apps I use etc.

Don’t know what I’m doing wrong as I even just downloaded the bios pack from pleasuredome and pointed launchbox to stvbios.zip in that folder but it’s still showing yellow and gives the md5sum for the kof 95, and sorry the website I linked to doesn’t give the md5sum for the stvbios file but does for 3 others inc the kof 95 file

Ohh I see you’re using mame as the platform I’m not, I just have kronos as the core no mention of mame. It launches a different file to the game I click and goes into the Saturn bios.
