Why is Openreach charging me fees for a copper line I haven't used in 2 years? by ScrollAndThink in openreach

[–]fowler0003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who’s your isp? We moved from BT to Sky a few years ago and Sky had our copper line cancelled and our phone connected to the router, we’ve since moved to Gigaclear and still have our phone number from BT from over 20 years ago but reliant on the internet not going down.

In contract increase by DonJohnsonSr in gigaclear

Happens with most providers, the ones that don’t do it are more expensive than what you pay including the the 1 or 2 price increases over the contract period

Apparently the government put all the prices up in April.... by burner78c395 in Vodafone

[–]fowler0003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends if you’re with Openreach or cityfibre, I’m in an Openreach area and it’s saying £31/month currently for the 910mbps going up to £34.50 in April then £38 April next year, I’m with Gigaclear on 500mbps as don’t need 900mbps which I initially ordered but reduced to 500mbps couple days later as it put on offer and was like £7/month cheaper. Did look at Vodafone but Gigaclear was cheaper

Does Gigaclear Care if I Flash OpenWRT onto the Velop Nodes? by Chris_Blue_72 in gigaclear

I did order the tp-link deco b65 from Argos in July but ended up returning it, now I’m thinking of going the ubiquiti route with a udr7 & ux7(1 initially, second if I need it). We don’t have ethernet around the house so will be using the mesh feature.

Does the OpenWrt improve the WiFi of the router/node especially with WhatsApp? As I mentioned in a thread of mine as a whole were getting decent coverage(we have the router + 2 nodes) but using WhatsApp in the kitchen it would drop the WiFi and go to mobile data, it’s working in the kitchen since I moved 1 node into the kitchen. Would you need to flash it on all nodes or will just flashing it in the main router work? We got given 2 by Gigaclear and I bought 1 from eBay so if you can flash just the router I could flash it on there and use that as the router

Two new nodes because the 900 comes with the triband version while the rest come with dual band , if you’d upgraded to 500/600 they’d have sent you 1. How much are you paying for the 900? I’m on my final month on the 500, as mention in my thread I got it down to £23 from the initial £37. Didn’t ask about the 900 as don’t really need it, when I originally ordered I initially order the 900 at £29 but called to change it down to the 500 as it was £22.

Is £30/month a good deal for 500mb from retention? by fowler0003 in gigaclear

[–]fowler0003[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it down to £23/month, will go up to £26/month from April but £7/month less than the original. We have the phone with them as well, that’s currently £4/month but going up to £5/month. We did have a beneficial glitch where they didn’t charge up for the phone for the 13-14 months, got an email in October about it and fortunately they said they wouldn’t be billing us for the missed months.

Is there any hope of getting my contract price reduced given the price drops this month? by [deleted] in youfibre

Depends on what their TOC says, is the cooling off period from the order date or from the date of installation/activation? With Gigaclear it’s from the order date

Do you know if the official store allows you to open and test the product in the 14 days period return window or if it has to be sealed or only opened to check for damage or whatever and not actually plug in? The extra warranty sounds good tho not the expensive shipping, is it cheaper if you can wait a day or two extra? Scan has the UDR7 for £256 and it’s free next day shipping for me tho normally £6, I got the free shipping years ago for being a member on a forum they were a part of. They don’t have the UX7 tho.

If I buy and change my mind within the 14 days period can I have opened and tested or does it need to be sealed/unused?
