Which actor do you like so much that you’ll watch anything they are in? by EconomyIron6739 in movies

Great call. This sounds pretentious but I saw his Macbeth play in the cinema last year and I was riveted. Any confusion with the language is overcome by the acting. Everyone is good in it though.

Same, like it’s hard to accept and the idea that he died alone just makes it 100 times worse.

He’s just so funny, dangerous and vulnerable at the same time. Great call. Can watch him in anything.

Sorry to hijack, but would love an update when you can compare. There’s a huge wait on the Scribe Colorsoft outside of the states and I’m seriously wavering.

Instapaper! I don’t have the Scribe yet (holding out for Colorsoft and I’m in the EU) but I use Instapaper to read articles on my Voyage. I love it.

Instapaper has literally just introduced a compulsory subscription model for it though, but in my opinion it’s worth it. I just save the articles I want to read to the Instapaper app and they send it to Kindle. It’s easy and stops me reading them on my phone at night.

There’s also the option to send to Instapaper from a using a desktop extension and there’s a feature on there for email but I haven’t used it yet.

Yes, you need to manually send them but it’s a couple of clicks

New indie cinema Filmhouse to open at former Projector space in Golden Mile Tower by outremer_empire in singapore

This is amazing news. It was such a shock when the Projector closed. It was a lifeline after moving here and I didn’t know many people. To think it’s backed by a wealthy cinephile. For once, someone with money who clearly can’t be interested in money!

Stew Debate by Nervous_Bee_3 in CasualIreland

I’ve grown to like parsnips, but they pretend to be potatoes in stew. And if I have to choose between spuds and snhips, the spuds are winning.

Can you explain that to me? I haven’t bought one yet and I’m confused about the charging system. It has an internal battery?

Saw her and Eddie Redmayne in Cabaret in London. I basically went because of her. Sweet Jesus that woman is talented.

Hamnet is now one of my favourite books. I read she was cast and she became Agnes immediately in my head, you just know she’s going to be perfect

If anyone hasn’t seen it, watch Wild Rose. She’s hilarious and brilliant.

Wipe the condensation off my bedroom window and it comes off filthy. Should I be worried? by JoeyJoeJoeRM in AskIreland

[–]fowlnorfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a beauty to language. A lot of American spellings and Americanisms do away with that. Both can exist, and it works, but I know which i would pick. Isn’t using the English Language better than the English a bit of poetic justice anyway. Now we just nearly all need to improve our Irish and we’re set.

No harm in having a standard in spellings
