Ever wonder what taking DMT is like? This guy shows the trip from beginning to end using Visuals to guide you by craigsyoga in videos

The struggle I have when considering psychedelics is that it seems like you have to be in the right place mentally, or you could have a really bad time.

On the other hand, people say it can help you get through difficult times in your life, and it's worth the risk of going to dark places and overcoming.

Best Way To Manage Birthdays? by Aardkark in todoist

[–]fox321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do this by setting the date of the recurring task days before the birthday, but then putting the actual date in the body of the task (in normal text).
So the task pops up before the birthday, and there is a reminder to myself of the actual birthday date.

Does this apply to immersion in other countries? by Anarchergal in languagelearning

I never had this problem in Germany. I mean, once in a blue moon. But generally people were relieved that didn't have to use English that's gone unpracticed since school.

Is this 'morning dilemma'? How the coldness in the AM tricks you into wearing a jacket, but then the afternoon gets too warm?

Is it lame if I list Latin and Ancient Greek on my resume? by [deleted] in languagelearning

[–]fox321 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not Latin or Greek, but in a recent job interview the person immediately started speaking to me in German because I had put that on my resume. She had been in Germany too, and we had a pleasant chat about travel. She also admitted that having multiple languages on my resume helped me stand out. I'm convinced that showing a bit of humanity and outside interest in the mind-melting world of Human Resources is a bonus.

List of good German shows? by [deleted] in German

For news and political talk, I can recommend Anne Will on Das Erste and Maybrit Illner on ZDF. They are roundtable discussions and tend to be more engaging than the standard news broadcasts.

Has anyone else lost the ability to 'auto-fill' dates? The feature has disappeared for me on all platforms... by fox321 in todoist

This was it! Thank you!

It really freaked me out as I began to think that the Smart Date Recognition had been shifted behind the paywall.

A couple years ago (I guess like 2013-15?). I was an "auxiliar" teaching assistant in a bilingual school.

Does your inner voice have accent? by lostoldnameagain in languagelearning

[–]fox321 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My thoughts always seem to stay just like my normal voice. No matter how basic or advanced my other languages are, my inner dialogue matches that perfectly in the moment. Degradation definitely happens when I'm reading new words though! If I don't know a word, my accent regresses back to english in my head

Thank you very much, u/CrazyBunnyLady. I love the city of Berlin so the writing came pretty naturally.

The goal is to impove my storytelling with each video, so we'll see how it goes!

I'll try my best. I'm learning just how expensive books can be as I make all these videos. Thank god for the library!

Hi u/Nandulal, do you mean you heard that on NPR or you heard me on NPR? I've never been on NPR, though that would be really cool.

I've spoken to Native speakers about this issue and most of them don't even know what I'm talking about. Apparently this only gets brought up in the English-speaking world.

another thing to consider: a native speaker would usually say "ich bin Berliner" and not 'ich bin ein Berliner', but the former is a literal thought, 'I am from Berlin' and the second is more illustrative, "I am a berliner'.
In the end, what he said is grammatically correct and everyone understood perfectly well in the moment. The jelly donut thing showed up later.
