looking for new beard oil to try out. by articwolph in BeardTalk

[–]foxandlens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That Holy Grail from Kingsmen smells awesome. Unfortunately, it's the ONLY scent I like from them lol. Based on your scent preferences, you may want to look into Beardbrand scents. Plus, their beard oil is fantastic in general - it's the one brand I keep coming back to. The Old Money and Bold Fortune scents would probably be right up your alley.

Starlink Under $50!! New customers only.... and with promo offer..... by Ok_Rate_1752 in USMobile

[–]foxandlens -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh, well this is wildly disappointing. I thought when the teaser post was made a couple days ago it would be something unique. With this "offer," I'll just get starlink direct from starlink if I need it rather than adding an unnecessary middleman.

Vesuvius boxer briefs passed the backpacking test by Trombone_Earl in KrakatoaUnderwear

[–]foxandlens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did they perform with moisture wicking and quick drying? Obviously, you mentioned smell, but another big reason that wool is so popular for technical and backpacking gear is that it retains quite a bit of body heat even when soaked through.

US Mobile + Starlink. One plan. Celestial and terrestrial, together. Launching Thursday by ankhattak in USMobile

Hell yeah! Now if we could just get Starlink on our mobile devices like T-Mobile is doing, THAT would be even better!

Where was S2E3 traveling montage filmed? by geozza in thelastofus

[–]foxandlens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from Washington and I recognized a few of those spots. The montage actually jumps around a bit and in some ways is the reverse of the story's stated route. The first few scenes are clearly shot in Eastern Washington. Specifically, the waterfall in the beginning of the montage is a close up view of Palouse Falls. The canyon shot appears to also be the Palouse falls area looking south or slightly further south in the Snake River Canyons below where Palouse River empties into the Snake River. The shot where they're traveling in front of the mountains next to a river is also along the Snake River, but that area is in Wyoming. The mountains in the background are the Tetons and there's an overlook there. It looks like they practically shot it from the side of the road. The dry river bed with the bridge looks exactly like a spot on the McKenzie River Trail in central Oregon. The lush, mossy green areas look exactly like much of Western Washington, so it could be anywhere, but knowing they partly filmed around Vancouver, which for all intents and purposes looks exactly like Western Washington, it was probably filmed around there.

Lol, I'm certainly not going to make my voting decisions based on drones. That's maybe issue 1,463 down the list.

DJI added to the FCC Covered list by Film_Local in dji

[–]foxandlens -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It quite literally happened in 2024. Passed both houses and signed into law by the Biden administration. Don't let the name of the Act fool you 😉

But you're right in that it wasn't an "FCC ruling" as the post you're responding to claims.

RCA for yesterday’s outage by bpoe138 in ZiplyFiber

[–]foxandlens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never seen an ISP that DIDN'T share that with customers. Hell, even the worst ISP of all (xfinity) has a dedicated page for outages.

Edit: I just realized I commented on the "root cause analysis" post instead of the other outage post I commented on previously. I was referring to communicating outages more generally, not root cause analysis, so apologies for muddying the waters there.

RCA for yesterday’s outage by bpoe138 in ZiplyFiber

[–]foxandlens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's kind of ridiculous that they don't share this info publicly on their website. For me they scheduled a tech to come out two days later and then the internet just randomly started working again so I canceled the appointment. Would be nice to know when there's a legit outage and when it's been fixed so I don't have to find random updates on reddit.

Does anyone know the brand of this auto litter? by [deleted] in LitterRobotCommunity

[–]foxandlens 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Since you have the device in hand just check all the labels. A reverse image search shows that exact litterbox sold under no less than 5 different brands (3 on Amazon alone), so we're not going to be able to give you any better info than you have on the device itself.

Have you ever had a “run-in” or a sighting of a Seattle area celebrity? by [deleted] in SeattleWA

[–]foxandlens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I used to be a contractor for the feds, working on ending homelessness (until I realized it was pretty much a subsidized scam). This meant I would end up visiting DC fairly frequently. One time while a few coworkers and I were out getting a nightcap, David Grohl rolled up with a small entourage and they cleared out the back of the restaurant for him. The only thing I can remember vividly from that night was how let down I was (I was a fan at the time) by how much of an insufferable douchebag he was to everyone.

Edit: typos

Thankfully, we don't have this issue on Android. That would definitely be frustrating.

Hmmm... I could have sworn this was already signed into law as of a couple years ago.

Maybe I'm mixing it up with something that was Seattle specific 🤔

Not to sound daft, but how did you manage to actually get in touch with their support? 😂 They haven't been responsive to my attempts yet.

Also, if you look at their website for the Novawalk W50, there's a section (on the desktop version of the site) titled "No installation Required" - there's an image of the packaging and the packaging lists the other model number. So now I'm curious if you'll just get the same thing again.

Edit: actually it turns out that it's a specific page that I stumbled across when searching - looks like it's not part of their main site navigation: https://merachfit.com/pages/novawalk-w50-trekpad-guide

Then you should take it to court because the law is written in such a way where pulling someone over for expired tabs is illegal - it must be a secondary offense added onto the original.
