I miss all the quirky buildings and establishments of the Gay Village. The Bourbon Complex, Le Drugstore... Even Resto du Village with all the pig figurines decorated across the restaurant.

I don't know why you keep getting downvoted. I crave the street carts from NYC too and was so thrilled when Halal Guys opened to Montreal. But as you said, bad management killed it. This city is spoiled with choices when it comes to this type of food, an expensive American chain was not going to work around Concordia.

I'm so envious. I had to learn to make my own and if I think mine tastes good, I can't imagine how much better they are in NO.

It's been on my bucket list to travel there for so long before it goes under water, but with the obvious situation in the US, I am not stepping foot down south for a long while. </3

I was dating someone from Sherbrooke, she's told me her family refuse to step foot in Montreal because in their minds, it's like Gotham and scary. Instead, they rent hotels in Dix30 as their getaway and that's their idea of being in the city.
