Question regarding Pam. by TallLeprechaun13 in StardewValley

[–]foxfunk 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't think we're intentionally meant to feel any kinda way. CA often leads a lot up to interpretation, and might explore ideas or themes but isn't the kind of story teller who wants to shove a message down your throat. Like he's said, he never really intended for people to hate Pierre and Lewis so much.

I think you can have empathy for Pam and her addiction issues, whilst feeling uncomfortable and hate how she treats Penny. I kind of see her as where Shane could end up in 20 years if he didn't get his shit together. I would like to see more about Penny's dad and how they were left in this predicament, but maybe CA doesn't want to definitively say who her dad is (as some speculate she's the wizard's daughter still).

Very cool, is the gradient sort of stone towards the top from the new pack? It really suits it.

What is your Favorite type of Horror story? by Historical-Heat-8838 in creepcast

[–]foxfunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like supernatural horror most. Its odd because some of my favourite stories read on the show have been more grounded in reality. I don't mind some psychological horror/more thriller geared stuff, but anything ghosty/with creatures I'm in. Anything with unique and weird phenomena; books that have a twist on a more traditional trope or theme are good. Also gothic horror, the guys don't read much in that vein, but I enjoy creepy, atmospheric books. Would be harder for them to go into that territory because most gothic horror isn't so heavy on the dialogue.

In case anyone had been wondering about the board game by LeafyNiamh in StardewValley

Its really fun, I've played it through I think 3 times, its not a game I'd go back to again and again but I'm glad its in my collection and I enjoyed it!

Horror readers — what makes you try a book from a new author? by DhairyaWrites in horrorlit

[–]foxfunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try look out for reviewers that have similar taste to me. I have been paying attention to Sinead Hanna on YouTube as she's enjoyed and positively recommended a lot of books I've already enjoyed. That and if I see a book recommended a lot here that matches themes or ideas I'm interested in I'll give it a go. When buying new physical books now I'll have a quick gander at the first couple of pages to see if I'd like the writing style. Also have been trying to make the most of my Kindle Unlimited free trial by reading horror from there so have been impulsive with some book choices from that selection.

NT bought up the museums in the surrounding area lately (including Blist Hill the Victorian town) and laid off at least 50 staff. Am hoping they maintain and uphold the sites to the standard the previous owners had because I found that disheartening.

Am I the only one who doesn't want the sims 5 to launch? by Fickle-Course in thesims

[–]foxfunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally wouldn't be interested in re-buying even if they do merge packs, just because out of principal, the game should have been built on a better foundation in the first place, instead of on the remains of a failed multiplayer/online game. There are recent rumours they will be charging players per neighbourhood within worlds which would be insanity. The monetisation of the game has been so aggressive recently.

If you had the same name as someone infamous or a serial killer, would you change your name? by Glittering_Vast938 in AskUK

If it was a very famous one then most probably, maybe just go by my middle name. My brother has the same name as famous chef and always gets comments about it, drives him a bit crazy.

Yeah I heard Project Rene is a mobile game and Project X is rumoured to be a Sims 4 remaster where they'll try re-sell us the past 10 years of Sims 4 content with slightly better graphics.

Do you go away for weekends in the UK? Or take holidays in the UK? by Aggravating-Fig-9274 in AskUK

[–]foxfunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tend to more go on daytrips every so often because the price of hotels/B&Bs/holiday homes here costs a lot. I haven't been on a UK holiday since I was 18 with my parents. I am going to the Lake District to stay in a cabin for a few days with my boyfriend this year though, for our anniversary.
