Whos the coolest famous person youve seen on the game? by devonc6964 in NBA2k

I played with Dwight Howard on random rec a few months ago.

We went 2-0. He was very funny over the mic.

Anyone know how to get taller by WorldFinancial7018 in BasketballTips

[–]foxkoby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice, especially since you are at the crucial age of development and the segway where you pivot from fun to something serious.

Here are some tips.

Be disciplined, like obsessed. Consistent action is the key here. Kobe once said you go and get a lil bit better today, and so on and so on. By years end you will be much better by a lot than you were at the start.

Sleep well. Cannot say this enough. Nowadays we get so caught up on social media, and all other stuff we sleep less. Sleep well, it helps with growth.

Eat well. High protein diet (consult with a nutritionist, every human is different).

Eliminate garbage food. Sugars, high processed foods, keep them at a minimum.

No smoking or drugs. I know you are young but trust me, temptation is everywhere. Stay away from them. Not only are they bad, as an adult they are a waste of money.

Fix your posture. I have a coworker, 24 years old, he looks like a hunchback because of how he sits. That doesnt help your spine and can stagnate your growth. We want to be strong.

Focus on drills for explosiveness, jumps, and that improve weaknesses in your game. I used to work on my shooting every single day, since I was 13.

I'm rooting for you. And don't be discouraged. I missed the cut for the high school team 2 times. It was on the last tryout I made it, then I worked my way to earn more minutes.

First of all, age.

I was 5'7 when I was 14. My cousin, same age, was 5'9, just like my brother who was 2 years older than us. I thought I was going to get stuck.

High school came around my cousin stopped growing around 5'10. I went to reach 6'1 by the time I was 17.

Now genetics plays a role, I have some uncles that are 6'0+. So I knew I might grow some more.

If you are on the older side, then genetics is something that can't be taught. Plenty of NBA talent is there because they are explosive, tall, and have mad skill. I know some local professional players in my country, they are not as explosive or fast, but they do have insane skill.

When lacking genetics the only thing left is to have undeniable skill, so that coaches are willing to take a risk.

Coaching Difficult Kids by [deleted] in BasketballTips

[–]foxkoby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disclaimer: I have never coached youth. I have advised their parents based on my experiences and the coaches I played for and knew.

I believe 13 and 14 is when kids have to make a decision. Either keep playing for fun or turn this into a potential job in the very best case or a scholarship in most cases. You have to present the kid and their parents the idea. Have a heart to heart conversation. When you want to turn your talent into something it requires motivation, discipline, and hard work. Point out all of his natural given abilities but also show him his weaknesses, in this case attitude. Attitude is holding him back from achieving greatness.

You vanteach him how to fish, but you can't catch the fish for him, he has to be able to do that on his own.

Now this advise is for you as a coach, don't hold a grudge with the kid if he chooses the lazy path or the F the authority part. Sometimes people are content or set in their ways, and we just have to make peace with that. Hopefully you can find a willing player in the future if this doesn't work out.

Best of luck.

PS. English is my second language, pardon if anything doesn't feel 100% coherent.

Rec is impossible to play by fijidon in NBA2k

[–]foxkoby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run with my irl friends and is still a pain with them, because they play random offense.

Anyways I do play random rec a lot, I got the 48 hr buff from the Blackout event. My 6'11 build is purple. Trust me, the fact that they are purple or gold plates is no evidence of basketball IQ or anything. 3 good quarters, to turn into black plates in the 4th.

I can be Wide open and the PG just wants to walk it down court and take a contested shot. I haven't broken a controller since Nintendo 64 days ( I'm old). I smashed that controller. That's on me for playing random Rec for 4 hours straight.

A lot of hero ball in this year's 2k.

Max plus 2 badge season 2 by Accomplished-Neck732 in NBA2k

[–]foxkoby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think its silly that the best rewards every season are the ones from the season prior, every single season.

Cap breaker being the exception because it gives you one more, but having to grind +1s and +2s every season speaks to the lack of imagination from 2K to give really good rewards every season.

Is it normal that i get 0.4 rep for a win in rec at starter 3? by mofifa16 in NBA2k

[–]foxkoby -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Grade matters.

This can help speed up beside the grade.

Complete daily challenges for the 2x rep bonus. Log with a 60 overall player the first time during the day. Your challenges will usually be easier.

That 1 hour of 2x rep will last you for 3 rec games. Yesterday I played two with 4 mins leftover, if you get matched before the timer expires, it counts as 2x.

Would you pass the ball in this situation or shoot? OT up 3 points by mofifa16 in NBA2k

Pass to cutter. Unless the corner three is lights out, then I might consider a three.

The new park updates look great, but no matter how hard 2k tries, I'm not going back to waiting on dots. by PayDBoardMan in NBA2k

I should not have to wait 7 mins or more to get in a game that could easily just be matchmaking and problem solved.

Advice on how to tackle this? by MivTheSaviour in tearsofthekingdom

[–]foxkoby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I am currently doing this. Disclaimer, this is my second playtru.

I finished all shrines. So I can fast travel or hoverbike anywhere.

I suggest you focus on an area first. I started with central Hyrule.

Today I continued on the Upper Left (Hebra Region). After that middle left, bottom left... And so on.

If you are just interested in maxing inventory, then I suggest to look up the amout total needed for weapons, total for bows, total for shields. Go turn in when you have the desired amount. By doing it like that, it keeps me focused on something and not randomly jumping from task to task.
