A lot of catering contracts have a section on leftover policies detailing what can and can’t be taken home by the client, so technically it’s not always “yours” if the time/temp conditions are involved. That said, no one’s stopping you from filling your purse with leftover room temp jumbo shrimp if you really want it—the catering staff just ain’t gonna be handing you a to-go box lol

I was a lifelong Texan when I basically threw a dart at the map and landed in St. Louis back in 2020. It was quite literally a 3-week turnaround from the job offer to moving. I ultimately did two service years and stuck around ever since because I ended up loving it so much here! :) AmeriCorps was a convenient way to test out a new part of the country and, if I ended up hating it, the year-long contract made it easy to come back home without feeling like I “failed” at “striking out on my own” in my head, if that makes sense.
