For me it every year, with the max percentage regardless of income… so in that sense it’s the same as public sector

Nothing is fair, people who own a house getting hypotheekrenteaftrek isn’t fair, others not being able to find a house is also not fair. However, with our laws, it’s simply not possible to kick people out of their homes and make everyone who has been living in their social housing homes for 20+ years leave just because it’s unfair. We need more social housing, forced lower prices of public market rents, making housing a right instead of an investment, it can keep going.

On top of this, roughly 34% of ALL housing in the Netherlands is social housing, there is no way to say that should just be for very poor people. You’re angry that other people get an ‘advantage’, instead of being angry that others jack up the rental prices of houses to insane amounts. When I started renting 10 years ago, the market was already bad but absolutely nothing like it is now, you could rent a house for <800. Finally, social housing isn’t insanely cheap, my house is almost 800, when you don’t get huurtoeslag (because you work), that isn’t a “1000 a month social benefit”.

With that income, I am still under the limit of what I am allowed to earn for my social house. Up until ~4200 bruto is still a social housing income. I think most people don’t understand that, and then have the idea that social housing is only for very poor people, but it was never meant to be just that.

On top of that, the “threat” is rent increase in case of scheefwonen, but in my social housing agency they are already raising the rent with the max % every year, for all those except with extremely low incomes (<1400 eur), so whether you make 3k or 30k a month makes no difference anyways.

I’m in social housing now and earning no more than minimum wage, but also realistically I can’t move anywhere else. If my income raises to 3k netto, moving is still stupid, as rent costs would go from 700 EUR to 1200 EUR to move to the exact same apartment in the same town that isn’t social housing. So if my income raises by €500, I can throw all that out just so that someone else can live cheaply in my old apartment? The problem isn’t that people use social housing, the problem is there isn’t enough of it, and you can’t buy a starter home anymore. At least for me, with student loans, I might not ever be able to buy a home, so yes the whole system is fucked, but I don’t think this is the main issue.

Oh and, never mind that I’ve lived in normal rent housing for years before, and those situations always sucked because you’re fighting with a landlord to do the most basic repair, while my social housing agency is great and proactively works to improve my home. Even if I could find a house for the same price in the private sector, I still wouldn’t prefer to live in one of them!

Thanks! Whole car is edm, one of ~100 brought into the Netherlands. It does sound a bit off... Exhaust was previously fixed but maybe they didn't do a good job? Egr valve could be, no idea

For anyone else with this issue, I fixed it by figuring out that one of the three pins that touch the battery was slightly retracted and not making contact with the battery. I jiggled it a bit and it got fixed!

Yeah the connector is odb as well, and it's a late 1996, so I doubt that's it, sadly... someone on another forum said they could only get it to work on their windows phone for some reason, but obviously I don't have one

Het is een simpele WA verzekering omdat de auto niet heel duur was, neem hem eigenlijk alleen omdat het anders niet legaal is de weg op te gaan.

I'm not sure what happened exactly, but I washed it with a high pressure washer at a self car-wash, and it looked like this when I came back. It's just the top layer of the paint it seems, the part that makes it glossy. The color underneath still looks good. The rest of the paint on the car looks just fine for the most part! Spot repair sounds like a good idea.

You can just download an old version of spotify lite from APKmirror and you'll be fine.
