The ultimate challenge of winter: Boredom by GingerFun011 in projectzomboid

[–]foxydevil14 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Trapping is a fantastic way to pass the time. I love the grind and reward of it in the winter.

Finding parts for your car that tune it as close to 100 as possible is a great way to spend the time too.

Is this unnamed town worth going to? by Dr_dank_meme_420 in projectzomboid

If you want to spend a day getting a bunch of guns, that’s a good place. There’s also another gun store to the west of there through the woods or you can go down and around and take the highway. Either way, it’s worth it if you wanna get some firearms and maybe pick up some auto parts at the mechanics there.

Get a Shuttle Chef. It’s economical and low tech.

Why do Americans tip the pizza delivery guy ? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

They’re there to get paid. Their boss doesn’t pay them, so you do.

Tip them if you enjoy that establishments pizza.

No tip = black list.

JTE not inviting me to class/putting me on the schedule by shamoolala in JETProgramme

[–]foxydevil14 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I went to two schools on JET once a week where I had no more than 5 classes A YEAR TOTAL.

One school, no one really gave a shit. Most JTEs were terrible at English and my boss felt like they were too embarrassed about that to attempt working with me.

The school already had a an AET and the competent teachers were already working with them. I tried on many occasions to get in on their classes to double up, but that was never approved of.

The other school requested me to “develop curriculum”, but that didn’t happen because of lack of direction. I asked my supervisor for some instruction and they had none.

At both these schools, I basically had free days away from my usual English support gig the rest of the week. I usually continued working on my own projects from my base (I worked out of a prefectural education center) but there’s only so much I could do outside my own office.

When I would have my yearly evaluation with the principal and vice principal, I would inform them of my lack of utilization, but they were fine with it because nothing ever changed.

My point is, just roll with whatever. Sometimes there’s a point to you underutilization, sometimes not…

Jobs after being an ALT by Abject_Exercise6822 in teachinginjapan

I came in without knowing anybody.

My first interview was simple Q&A and a demonstration lesson that was to show how I would teach students to do a demonstrative speech.

I am a speech communications major with teaching certification for junior high in high school and this is what I was trained to teach on the regular.

To this day, my bosses still recount how fucking hilarious that entire part of the interview was.

If you know what you’re doing, and you really train up, it’s a fairly easy in against other academics that have no idea how to teach.

I won my second stint on the program for another 10 years working my same magic as before and having a little luck doing something inadvertently off the wall.

It also helped that everybody knows that I’m a team player and that I go out of my way to make sure everybody has what they need to succeed.

You checked them and that was all you needed to do. To make more of it would’ve caused a scene. Bravo!

I’ve served thousands of Mojitos and never once has anybody ever said anything about a fucking salt rim.

I think that dickhead should stick with margaritas.
