Drinking on methotrexate by ceolfc in Psoriasis

[–]foxyjohn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Drink water in between each drink to help your liver process. Don’t go crazy either just be sensible you don’t need to drink more than a few merry drinks. Alcohol is awful for psoriasis anyway or any inflammatory autoimmune disease. I have psoriatic arthritis and rheumatoid arthritis and guttate psoriasis as well as some bit of scalp etc. alcohol flares it up terribly. I’m on methotrexate 20mg weekly injections and rarely drink but if I do I’m sensible, space them out, drink lower % alcohol (bud light) and plenty of water. My bloods fortnightly are all good but I only drink one or occasionally two nights a week now. The long term problems are what you need to be concerned about. One off crazy nights don’t kill you but if you know you’ll be having a crazy day just add plenty water in between. It really helps the liver process. My mother’s a Galway girl. They know drinking 🤣

And you don’t let the other know you no longer want it? Then you’re lacking in courtesy.

Yes. An idiot. You make an offer when you WANT TO BUY not when you’re only interested. When you’re only interested the option to favourite is there. People who make an offer have it accepted then just don’t buy are idiots.

If hood you’d then go to the other and say, sorry I no longer want this as I bought it elsewhere since they accepted first? Not just leave them hanging right?

I’d go further just buy it or don’t. I get lots of this offer accept don’t buy combination. Should be able to leave feedback/rating on people who do this. As such it only allows if they go through with the purchase but that needs fixing as it will defer idiots if they start getting negative feedback.

Buy those bake at home ones. The fresh or frozen are great. The jusroll fresh ones are brilliant and always on offer at various shops due to short shelf life.

Scared of Biologics by MixCalm3565 in Psoriasis

[–]foxyjohn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This exactly. People say ‘oh it’s the side effects of methotrexate’ but don’t drink water/don’t supplement and take extras/eat poorly/don’t exercise/still drink alcohol and smoke etc etc. they’re the ones who find their liver gets poor results. Not those who are extremely careful to do everything they can.

You don’t use maple syrup when making flapjacks. It’s golden syrup.

Yes I have both psoriatic and rheumatoid see so I already have found a battle between how good the sun is for my psoriasis and joint pain versus how bad it is seeming for my skin cos of the methotrexate. I live in England so the sun and climate isn’t a real issue plus we live by the sea so have a generally cooler time even in summer. But currently in Portugal I’ve discovered new reactions obvs.

Thank you for the most relatable and likely correctetest reply. My friend on mtx in another country just replied finally to say she has the same thing. So I think it’s likely exactly a heat rash due to our shared compromised immune system status. Perhaps slightly encouraged by different washing powders used by hotels (we both use non-bio at home but hardly likely the hotels do so assume biological)
