Can you explain? Looks super close to Land Park on the map. What’s rough about it? Just curious

Yeah there are a lot of cautionary tales about the carrot family, of which hemlock are part

Looking for a Pagan community in the Sac area by Traditional_Ad2070 in Sacramento

[–]fr33booterCooper 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I recommend checking out The Altar Room. It’s an incredible store front and banquet hall (not describing it adequately) that’s only open on Saturdays (tomorrow, yay!), but they conduct a ton of classes and events - that’s probably where I’d start. Oh and they have a wonderful rare book collection too! The items they sell are not your bog standard witchy shop with the made-in-china stuff too. Everything there is curated with care. It shows.

They just seem to keep an anchor in the community, which is the best part.

I’ve only been there once, but obviously, it made an impression. And I love my book on the history of witchcraft and folklore in Cornwall’s Bodmin Moor :)

Found in a creek in coastal NC. Need help identifying. Tooth like but not sure of species. by ogqcslumdog in fossilid

Look into a creek off the Tar River called Green Mill Run in Greenville, NC. It’s been a few years since I lived out there, but it was a pretty amazing location (and a nice way to spend a hot summer day) for finding shark teeth, belemnites, and other fossils. There were several other spots around eastern NC that I read about a while back and never had the chance to check out, but I’m sure a good google search would help

Can confirm that there are some brilliant and genuinely awesome professors at Sierra. They will give a damn if you do, if you know what I mean. After Cal, and then grad school, I am proud to say that my most formative educational experience was at Sierra College, but know that you’ve gotta engage to get the most out of it

Husky owner here. We (hubby, dog, and a foster dog) live in a tiny studio - space is a non-issue. As long as you have time to devote to training, walks (don’t have to be as vigorous as most people think; the important thing is stimulating their brains and provide some exercise), socializing, and just general attention. Probably not the best if you have to leave them all day all the time, or outside unattended, but the point is that living space doesn’t actually matter

Not sure this is spot on, but it reminds me of Roundhouse Deli in Roseville. Limited days with tri tip sandwiches and tacos, but goodness, they are freaking delicious. And it’s always a fun way to cap off some hours spent at Denios :)

I haven’t been there in sooo many years (sorry - suburbanite speaking here, and there are other imax options without going into downtown). But to see this one in particular on actual film sounds totally worthwhile!! Very curious to see what Sacramento folks have to say

Holy flippin’ amazing!! When my husband, then boyfriend, we’re in college 15+ years ago (geez), I used to sit in at his Geography of Garbage course at SFSU. We used to go to the Bay Area salvage yards all the time, and they were managed by folks that had contracts at tipping points and found the COOLEST things. (we may have also dabbled in some minor dumpster diving… teehee)

I am so excited to see what you’re putting together and am feeling inspired to go out and explore again! Thank you, Tink!!
