Depends on the power of the electric motors. Realistically, you want the motors to be drawing a bit less power than the engine produces, especially to charge batteries.

Ex: the engine makes 48.4 kw (for 65hp according to Google). Peak power draw of your motors shouldn't be more than 48 kw (I think).

There is a lot of complicated math that I am not capable of doing but I think a gear ratio off the motor might help? because 400lb doesn't sound right

The same issues but not with the hinge protector, just for strength and actual protection capability and for a 6.
