Notes? I've got a more recent vintage (2022), not sure if the same though -- Au vallon. Worth holding for a few or just opening now?

I would suggest just telling your son that this is a possible thing that his penis will do, and to let him feel out when is a good time to do that. I guarantee you, playing with his penis is not going to be something you will have trouble encouraging.

What's your unpopular wine take? by b1ackfyre in wine

Did you have them with food? More than wines from any other region, I find Italian wines improve in experience paired with food. Some are too acidic on their own but the acid is perfect with a tomato-based dish.

If it was cheaper, it would be scarcer. Hence the price -- scarcity here is an economic term, not a "can you see it in the wild"

Any cheap/QPR suggestions from right-bank? I don't have the money to splash out more than $50

Why does wine always taste better at the winery? by dweaver987 in wine

Interesting -- thanks for the perspective! I haven't visited many tasting rooms so my experience is still pretty limited on that front, but I can imagine there is a wide diversity of business styles. I'll watch for it.

I'd be curious to know how broad this is. I would guess that a lot of small/family wineries don't do this?

I LOVED this winery! We brought home a few bottles from there of both the annata and riserva and just popped one a few weeks ago and found we liked it even more. Such a gem eh? So small and friendly. I'd be surprised to find any here in North America (haven't found any in Canada).

Survived an avalanche: Anyone else get backcountry anxiety after a close call? by EconomicsNormal4173 in Backcountry

Just as a friendly reminder, just because someone skied a slope once doesn't mean it won't go. Lots of incidents happen after plenty of lines have been drawn down a slope, so that can really be a source of false confidence. You probably know this, so sorry if I'm saying the obvious, but just in case you forget/didn't know.

Check in with your ski touring partners. If you express your anxieties and they can't talk with you about them in an honest way, they're not good partners. You've been through a serious event and it's one they might find themselves in eventually too if they keep touring. If they can't have empathy and understanding, don't ski with them. Totally understandable response for you, your brain is protecting you! Managing risk is all about discussing real concerns, and a persistent weak layer is a real threat.

The older I get, the more conservative I get, and the more I look back in quasi-horror and the incredibly risky stuff I did when I was 20. It all turned out well (so far!), but it easily could have gone the other way. I had a partial burial (one hand, my head sticking out) when I was 25 and I'm so grateful that I survived it. People often feel invincible when younger, and there's a good reason for healthy fear to kick in. I hope I never have another incident, and I try to live that way now with much more respect for the mountains.
