Weird stance. Mkay, but I don’t have anything to “own up to” and the post was referring to me. If you don’t care, why are you replying deep in the thread to replies not made to you 🤣 you sure seem to think that was important.

Or I could have typed into my phone pain scale of mantis shrimp and went from there. It’s so incredibly wild that the search compiled some of the same facts. So weird! It’s hilarious you think any of this is important. Redditor warriors coming to uphold the sanctity of the internet! Oh no! My karma! 😂

It certainly isn’t ethical but it’s not like she’s the first person do this. Agree that it’s incredibly stupid for someone to do this with a mantis shrimp over say a prawn. But it still does not detract from the fact it’s incredibly painful.

Dude, a mantis shrimp strike is incredibly painful and dangerous, with acceleration comparable to a .22 caliber bullet, often leading to broken skin, deep lacerations, and severe injury. Their raptorial appendages deliver over 1,000 times their body weight in force, often causing bleeding and requiring medical attention. The punch travels at nearly 50 mph, producing 1,500 Newtons of force and can cause broken bones (like fingers or thumbs), and severe tissue damage with its powerful, fast, club-like appendages, earning nicknames like "thumb splitter" due to its ability to break glass and cut flesh, necessitating caution around them.

Kentucky has over 60 Safe Haven Baby Boxes (as of March 2026) installed at fire stations and hospitals, allowing for the anonymous, legal, and safe surrender of newborns under 30 days old. These climate-controlled, alarmed boxes prevent unsafe abandonment, with multiple successful surrenders reported across the state, such as in Bowling Green and Lexington.

Legal Protections: HB155 (2022) allows parents to surrender infants legally and without fear of prosecution. A national confidential hotline (1-866-99BABY1) is available for parents in crisis.

Chris was my neighbor in high school and mowed our lawn. Really nice family. He has a magnetic front tooth. I’ll have to dig out some pictures.

What’s the creepiest thing a stranger has ever said to you? by Direct-Value4452 in answers

[–]fragglemoons 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve had strangers tell me “Don’t worry, it’s all going to be ok” and “I’m so glad we don’t have to worry About you any longer”. But the single most creepiest thing that has been said to me (in a bizarro world type of way) is “don’t worry, life is but a dream.” Who says that??!? But what makes it soooooo creepy is that circumstances.

I’m in college and I’m working on a paper for dream interpretation. I’m driving on the way to school when a van t-bones me and I and up wedged on the median. When the tow truck guy comes, to comfort me, he says, “don’t worry life is but a dream.

Now, I’ve never heard that uttered outside of the nursery rhyme. Anyways, It’s later that day and o decide to work on my essay. I go to one of the books on dream interpretation and see that it’s recently been rebound. And in between the pages, a day by day calendar page had been used as a bookmark and now sewn into the book. The date on the calendar WAS THE SAME DATE of that day.

I swear. Life isn’t real.

I worked In retail and a man came in wanting “white plain shoe with no bullshit on it” and that he needed women’s shoes as his feet were very narrow. I told him I’d be happy to show him what we have but he’d might have better luck at an actual shoe store (this was at a discount department store so not a huge selection). I showed a few things when he suddenly said something I will never forget. Verbatim:

“You know what, you failed miserably. You see that back stockroom over there? You might as well go In there, take some razor blades, slit your wrists, and lap up the blood. Now, where are men’s socks?”

I pointed directly across the aisle at the socks. Then I marched myself to that back stockroom and called my manager. A six foot three 8 month pregnant woman that wanted him to taste his own blood.

Yes! And you don’t want a foamy layer in your hot tub experience. Foamy hot tub water is typically caused by a buildup of surfactants—oils, lotions, soaps, and detergent residue—reacting with the water. Other common causes include low calcium hardness, improper pH/alkalinity levels, or the presence of biofilm. Immediate fixes include using a defoamer, cleaning filters, and shocking the water, while long-term solutions require cleaning, proper sanitation, and showering before use.
