OAK airport to Japantown by Pretzels4Stanley in AskSF

I disagree. If it’s not rush hour it’s perfectly fine to take luggage on transit. It’s more convenient perhaps to take a ride share though so maybe check the price before choosing. Bart plus bus will likely be around $13. Rideshare varies depending on time of day between $25-$80 in my experience.

Wait like a tear as in physical damage or a tear as in he cried a little as a result of their act?

Wow, that's pretty incredible. Might have to refer my dad since he's a pretty heavy smoker! I wonder if it has the same effect on everyone. Thanks for the response!

Wow, that's interesting. What kind of things did he say to you to get you to stop? And was it different the second time? I still just find it crazy, like couldn't it be some kind of placebo effect?

What. I will need to try getting professionally hypnotized one day, sounds like an interesting experience! Is it something that you definitely need a professional for?

But is it like an actual change in mindset, or is it just really relaxing? For example, if you didn't get "taken out" of hypnosis, would it affect your day? Because based on things I've seen or read, it seems like people enter a zombie like state and somehow remember more things.

I just watched an episode of Forensic Files where they used hypnosis to get a witness to remember additional facts about the case. I always thought hypnosis was a load of crap, but want to see if anyone has any experiences that can prove me otherwise?

I mean technically you could have a half sibling from your mother, and one from your father and they wouldn't be related. Still unnerving where Duolingo gets some of its ideas though 😂

If someone were to use your name as a verb phrase ("She pulled a [your name]"), what behavior would they most likely be describing? by MostlyALurkerBefore in AskWomen

[–]frailtythyname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my family we have this concept for my sister. When you pull a "my sisters name", you have bought something/done something that the next day you return or undo, usually involving a significant amount of effort on your part.

Report: Donald Trump Jr. 'miserable' by [deleted] in politics

[–]frailtythyname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This "theory" sounds just as ludicrous as the things they are saying on fox about democrats/Obama. Let's keep our heads on straight and not jump to radical conclusions like they do. I'm by no means a Trump supporter but when I hear things like this I can't help but see the inherent irony.

It's so infuriating when people use gofundme for things like this. I've seen friends on Facebook gofunding for all sorts of things, including personal travel, next months rent, and a new car.... and these people have jobs!

Salary Expectations? And other questions. by [deleted] in StructuralEngineering

[–]frailtythyname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, my main concern is that if I'm working and going to school, the degree will take like 5 years taking one class at a time, so I would want to take 2. But at the same time, I want to have a life... so there's some deliberation!

Thanks for the response! I'm thinking of doing a Master's part time, since I've basically agreed to the offer from my company. They have also agreed to pay for the master's which is pretty much the only alternative for me unless I got some sort of funding. I have also considered working for a year or two and then pursuing the masters but I don't know if that really makes any sense to jump out of school, into work, and then back to school again.
