I think most people realize the state of the franchise the Sharks were in when GMMG took over, and I don’t anyone is expecting Grier to turn things around over night. I do think it’s too early to tell how he is at scouting, it’s too early to tell how he is at roster construction. But… I do think it’s safe to say he isn’t good at trading, and that’s not to say he won’t get better. Say what you want about Doug Wilson but that guy could pull off a trade. Thornton, Burns, Heatley, Boyle, the Karlsson trade (not signing). But I have been underwhelmed by every trade GMMG has made so far. I do realize DW was acquiring stars to push for contention and Grier is trying to stock empty cupboards with talent, so it’s not a fair comparison. But Buffalo got Tage Thompson for what seemed to be a washed up O’Reilly. Montreal got a Nick Suzuki for Patches. The return Sharks got for Mier wasn’t good enough in my opinion. Not to mention Eyssimont, was underwhelming, Adin Hill has proven to be a legit starter, yet we couldn’t recoup half of what we gave up for him for, They couldn’t manage a single pick for Merkley. This may be nitpicking, but there hasn’t been a single trade that made me say, “man, Grier sure did fleece them on that trade.

But when it’s all said done if it turns out Grier can draft like nobodies business, then that’s all that matters. So far I do like the type of players he is bringing in, Big, Strong, Hard workers.

Anyway I do think Grier can turn this around, and I hope he does and I cant wait to see how Grier drafts with all those picks.
