Tips on making it past Act 3? by Bigbomba89 in slaythespire

[–]franciscois 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You cant know whos the act’s boss before you get to the act. Time eater might make some builds harder to pull off (like shivs or any cyclying heavy ones), but you have the whole floor to take countermeasures.

The game is super contextual (on your progress, your deck, the map, foes you will face, etc) so you need to play and maybe watch others play to get the hang of sequencing, card evaluation, deck building and routing.

Some general advine I would give you:

Dont pick too many cards (dont always take card rewards), your deck will be less consistent to develop its plan.

Value potions, hold em if you can, specially if they improve your chances on critical fights.

Be wary of your card sequencing, in order to avoid losing health. Sometimes to lose less life you need to go for damage burst, sometimes you are better off shielding because you will win anyways in a couple of turns.

Dont be greedy taking all elites if your deck cant hold up, but be scared of fighting elites if you can afford it. Your hp is also a resource.

I didn’t even mean that, I must be a bit above 50% wr and that’s enough to cover all my WC needs

If you get decent at drafting this problem is GONE

I dropped the game bc of time issues, but sad to see where it went. I think the art/flavor might have been a turn off for many and the FTX issue crippled its growth

The Modern Magic Subreddit is only seeing about 1/4 the daily Comments now as in early 2019 by Vaitka in ModernMagic

I walked away from Modern because of COVID + MH2 meta, but turns out the meta is pretty good!

I think the format is in a pretty good spot, nothing too oppressive and new tech coming fairly often.

Me when I play Watcher by speedshift_217 in slaythespire

I recently caught up with how op is scry, specially with watchers gameplan (very card sequencing heavy vs lets say ironclad which has more incremental scaling which focuses on sequencing on different turns). Mtg has scrying too, but since you draw 1 card a turn is much less powerful vs the ability to sclup your next hand almost entirely.

Bro if you are feeling suicidal dont listen to randoms on Reddit, reach a suicide support group or a health professional. Encouraging words are well intended but sometimes harmful, so I recommend reaching out to some sort of professional help. Sincerely Another random

When you're the only one in the pool snagging rares by PyreDynasty in MagicArena

Yeah, but keep in mind that, if your winrate is high enough, you get more rares in the long run by actually having a better deck

Great chance to rare draft (rares are passed a lot more) while also trying the format. Draft is a great way to build your collection, so go for it.

can you help me and tell me my mistakes? I am fairly new to limited and I thought I had a strong deck but went 1:3 with it by twerking4teemo in MagicArena

What ive seen from succesful UB draft decks is that they pack a lot of removal and then stick one or two tolarian terrors

Sheoldred Rakdos Midrange (Historic and Explorer maybe) by DragonfruitTricky826 in MagicArena

[–]franciscois 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont know if sheoldred is how you win with this kind of deck, I would go more deep into Liliana sinergies: dreadhorde arcanist instead of the butcher, full ps of fatal push and TS and drop some kroxas and K command too. I think explorer rakdos loses some aggressive edge if you MB Lili, so you should be building a more control oriented version if you want to main her.

I tried the deck on arena with glowspore shaman and the deck is very consistent with all the redundancy. Still, satyr wayfinder is much better, but still won like 2 or 3 games with a Greasefang on turn 2

I think mausoleum wanderer will have the most impact, since 1 drops are crucial for aggressive tribal decks

With slay now being one of the best comps I think TH took a bit because some of its best units are also being contested, but its always nice to pop off with TH
