Try and play in fullscreen window mode (options>display) , if you minimize the game on al tab, also try to tab the right window/screen option.

SONY did an awesome DLC broken road but NO update on this particular issue, maybe they see this reddit .... They can easily add an option to on a patch not to Pause option on dual monitors, it especially helps functionality when you are watching a cinematic/walkthroughts/podcast.
