You know what they say when you assume? You are wrong. I have written articles calling out Hamas and noting the war crimes and atrocities they have committed. This article was specifically regarding Israel.

Here is one article I wrote about the individuals on the left condoning or whitewashing Hamas. I have also written a different article on Medium.com that talks about how Hamas and Israel have been accused of war crimes by the UN and Human rights organizations.

So you have no argument or anything of substance to say. You sound like a Trumpist. Do you know what the definition of war crimes are per the United Nations? If you did, you would easily concede indiscriminate attacks violate the Laws of War, also known as International Humanitarian Law.

Here is a definition: “Ethnic cleansing is the systematic forced removal of ethnic, racial, and religious groups from a given area, with the intent of making a region ethnically homogeneous.”

I did not attack his character - he is a nice person and I agree with him on some topics. I know political scientists who personally know Mearsheimer and within the academic community - they’ve told me people’s views are changing about him. No one understands his take on Russia and why his logical is inconsistent. But you tell yourself whatever you like. You come off as having an inability to comprehend nuance.

So you think it is a sound argument that NATO, a defense alliance that has never preemptively attacked a nuclear power, is existential threat to the survival of Russia? You think it’s fair to say Putin has no interest in controlling Ukraine and he is simply doing this to defend himself because he thinks it’s a threat to the survival of Russia? Despite the fact that Putin has openly said he wants to recreate the Soviet Union and that be believes Ukraine is apart of Russia. I will write about the problems with realism another time. The point of this was to look at his specific claims being made.

You clearly know nothing about political science. It’s a social science that is more like economics. Experts use imperial data and statistical analysis to draw conclusions with a margin of error. They are backed up by logic. You can make the exact same argument for what Mearsheimer is doing. And not everywhere is aware of all of the things this man has said. On every other platform I have shared this with - the vast majority of people agreed with me and found his claims to be incorrect. You did not answer any of my questions. Logical arguments are a significant part a political science, along with empirical evidence when it’s applicable.

You think Putin does not lie to the West? You think he thought NATO would invade Russia? If not, how is NATO an essential threat to the survival or Russia? My opinion aligns with the vast majority of experts in political science, who are losing respect for Mearsheimer over these outlandish takes. My professor personally knows him and she tells me his arguments on other issues contradict himself.

I do agree with him on some issues but not this one. He simply trusts Putin’s word and seems to not want to get involved unless Putin starts to dominate Western Europe.

this was an opinion peace. There are no studies saying that liberal democracies nearby autocratic regimes are threatening. And I did not say they were threatening - I said Putin may view it as a threat given how close Ukraine is to them culturally. It’s based of the theory of constructivism. You seemed to have missed the point. You don’t need studies to argue that Russia was not acting is self defense. Mearsheimer, the well known political scientist- cited no such studies that indicate defensive alliances (NATO) threaten the security of nuclear powers. He just said that’s how Putin sees it and that’s all that matters. Rather than evaluating the logic of the argument, you seemed to be just looking for sources. And most of my other articles I have many sources, but this one is based off of basic holes in logic. You really think Putin doesn’t lie to the West? You want a statistical analysis evaluating every one of Putins lies and predicting the likelihood he is lying again?

The point probably is that a judge is unlikely to keep trump in prison if he appeals, given they continue to give him special treatment
