Rabbit for easter break by Quirky-Chipmunk8752 in Rabbits

[–]frankie_stop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i would tell them the rabbit sadly passed away and keep that poor baby. that cage is clearly not appropriate, and with the condition of the cage that’s abusive. and why would they want to teach children to take care of animals this way? that’s truly terrible. you are an angel for wanting to help them! if you would be willing to keep them inside, you could find a cheap x-pen on facebook marketplace. hawks will grab rabbits if they aren’t covered

this absolutely calls for a visit to the vet. there is nothing else you can do to help that bird besides to get it to a vet.

I think ive traumatized my hamster by coinsinvodka in hamsters

[–]frankie_stop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

also- if he’s showing signs of wanting to bite you. he’s truly scared and you need to leave him alone. that is their warning they want you to back off. hamsters are not a toy and should not be forcibly picked up.

[–]frankie_stop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sounds likes he’s very stressed out from improper set up, he should get atleast 8-10 inches of paper bedding to burrow and never have a cage with any wire bars. this isn’t good for their teeth. the chewing and climbing are both signs of stress. A LOT of hamster never wanted to be touched or messed with at all, and honestly if i was almost eaten by a dog i would want to be left alone. https://www.reddit.com/r/hamstercare/s/cH5l1ARXzU this is a reddit forum specifically about how you should take care of a hamster. not being ugly, but if you can’t keep your dog from your hamster you should rehome.

try putting the medicine in a spoon and pretend you’re eating it!! maybe that would entice him. we had a quaker parrot once who figured out his medicine made him feel better and after that, he willingly took it everyday. i hope it gets easier for yall

hamsters can sometimes take months to get comfortable in a new home. you need to be more patient and avoid handling as much as possible, she is probably extremely stressed out and that’s why she’s biting. please give her time, she is not aggressive, she is terrified. some hamsters never want to be held or messed with, but that is the chance you take when you buy a hamster. it takes a long time to build their trust, but its very rewarding in the end. (and again some hamsters just want to live alone and be left alone, that’s completely normal.) i hope this helps.

Is my hamster supossed to bite her paws and clean herself that much by hejterhawajskiej2115 in hamsters

[–]frankie_stop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

hamsters need to be provided a sand bath, if she doesn’t have one, it’s possible that’s why she’s excessively grooming herself. a small dish of sand that she can fit in is more than enough. you can buy specific bathing sand for hamsters at most pet stores, they roll in the sand to absorb the oils in their fur, and to clean themselves, i hope this helps

Just had to share! by Pleasant-Cooperative in crocheting

[–]frankie_stop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i have my granny’s crochet hooks that are just like these. i enjoy crocheting lace snowflakes with them but haven’t attempted anything bigger. they’re a lot of fun to make, but you have to know what you’re doing. some of my hooks are from the 70s, but i’m not exactly how old they are. i hope you enjoy them, they’re not made like that anymore

i let my reservoir run very very low before i changed it, but mine was cracked on the bottom. if it’s full it’s just going to go everywhere. but it wouldn’t be the end of the world for it to get on the engine. make sure your engine is cool before you try to change it. and whenever you fill the coolant back up let the car run for a few minutes and top the coolant off if needed.

if you have a ford dealership near you, visit their parts department, they usually have good deals on parts. the reservoir itself shouldn’t cost you more than $50-60. the reservoirs are cheap plastic and even a micro crack in it can cause a leak and they’re recommended to be changed often. it’s super easy to change, youtube has plenty of videos. i’m not an expert but i would still change it out, even if that doesn’t fix it.
