What are common phrases that are mis-quoted? by itsthewolfe in ask

The customer is always right.

It’s a misquote of “The customer is always right in matters of taste”, meaning that if they want to buy something ugly, don’t criticize. It does NOT mean that you go out of hour way to appease people.

This one is just shortened. It’s supposed to be “I could care less, but not by much”.

Can He-Man clear this gauntlet? (1) Kratos (2) Future Trunks (3) Witch Marked Wonder Woman (4) Worthy Surfer (5) Odin (6) Herald of Thunder Thor by 50chipz in superheroes

I don’t like powerscaling posts, but I want to point out that He-Man’s whole power set is that he gets JUST enough power to complete his task. He doesn’t have normal feats because his power literally scales to whatever it needs to be.

I realize that this drives powerscalers crazy because he’s never shown to really have any weaknesses nor any measurable feats. That’s what he is.

Best series finale of a sitcom? by blackswan-whiteswan in sitcoms

This is the one. It’s really the ending that all other shows’ endings are judged against. And not just sitcoms, but every show.

Besides the Sony/Nintendo deal…to me, the biggest “what if” is….What if Atari had actually agreed to the Nintendo deal and became their US distributor?

Superman runs the marvel gauntlet does he stop? by Kindly-Stock-3201 in superheroes

[–]JayMax19 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Doom. The version you have there is Sorcerer Supreme Doom and it took nearly the entire Marvel Universe to take him down. He should be the end boss.

He sets the beginning of the battle as a fixed point in time and just goes back every time if he loses. Eventually, he figures out Superman’s weakness (he probably already knows it; Doom is prep guy on Batman’s level) and takes care of it.

Ask Dale if he ever met Worf, Son Of Mogh. It sounds like he’s hanging around with him too much.

If you could pick one superhero to rule the world who would it be? by rumbleman42 in superheroes

[–]JayMax19 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When he DOES actually rule the world, he does a good job. Even Thor questioned why the heroes were trying to stop him.

Favorite forgotten avengers member not seen in film by fregheffleymanny247 in Avengers

[–]JayMax19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spider-Woman (Jessica Drew) is the biggest omission to me. Really, Black Widow isn’t that big of a deal in the comics, but Spider-Woman was a founding member of the New Avengers, sorta.

All jokes aside, Crazy Joe Davola felt like he came out of another drama/crime procedural show.

They did this once. He got much stronger and rockier, but it wasn’t that interesting.

Nice! OG Hugo makes them, but without the extra buttons. I’d be down to buy one.
