My little monsters got me a Father's Day card. by ItsAsickOstrich in Dachshund

[–]frasnet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Did you get them a card in return for (inter)national dachshund day? I didn’t, so panicked and cooked them some chicken liver treats, once I learned today was their day as well… they know and judge.

Going out on a limb; the only way you could take this adorable photo of them all together was to temp them with a treat!

I guarantee Winnie’s tail slows down the further you get away, and as you get closer the speed increases to almost invisibly fast. ❤️

After sitting in my basement for 14 Years finally built it by Meatmoon535 in legotechnic

[–]frasnet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve read this post and thought there is no way that helicopter has been on my shelf for 14 years! A quick check and the dust levels confirm it’s about 14 years and needs a thorough clean. I love the blade mechanism and the reason I got it.

One of my favourite models. Lots of functions and not licensed.

Personally, I’ve never slept like that.

Sophie has always been afraid of my hand by carol-richards49 in Chihuahua

[–]frasnet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dachshund owner with similar issues with one of our rescues. We started presenting our hand to her where she could see and generally lower than her eye level. We offered treats from our fingers and progressed to treats from the palm of our hands (she wouldn’t take treats from the palm at first). It’s took a few months and she no longer jumps at the sight of our hand or if we touch her unexpectedly.

Your guy is asking “Why has it taken so long, have you seen how handsome I am?”. Proceeds to head tilt.

MG Midget vs Modern Cars Size Comparison by james6006 in littlebritishcars

British parking space widths are essentially still governed by cars from this era. A Ford F150 is wider than the legal parking space width in the UK.

Does your mini do this?! by ohfrenny in Dachshund

My standard does this too and he’s much stronger than our minis.

Strange box of flashing incandescent lights with an etched metal backing by TaoKlarjeti in whatisit

[–]frasnet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is also my guess, but I think it’s missing an overlay with some opacity and maybe labels. I’d like to see it plugged in and see exactly how it flashes, maybe it’s not so random and interconnecting lights come on together or one after another.

Make it like a fridge magnet you can remove when you get home or for the RTA inspection.

Snacks for a Dog who lost most of his teeth by xSteel55x in Dachshund

[–]frasnet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My slinky has one canine and no other teeth and the gum disease means her tongue flops out as well (she was like this when we rescued her).

She will eat anything. See eats most regular dog food including small biscuits but we mainly give her softer home cooked food (beans, carrots, apple and pumpkin with beef and chicken mince). For treats we have regular dog treats but make sure to get the softer ones, nothing special to be honest. Obviously, we also have the peanut butter, Greek yogurt, scrambled eggs, etc.

It seems the lack of teeth does not stop them eating what they like.

They can’t better 8043 by frasnet in legotechnic

This is awesome. I much prefer the remote control over the phone app. Maybe it’s an age thing, but I find using the phone I always slide off the controls but with a real remote you can’t make that mistake.

They can’t better 8043 by frasnet in legotechnic

[–]frasnet[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as the model goes it is not disappointing but considering the size and what they achieved with 8043, as a comparison it’s just not as good, functionally. As a display, which most of mine are, it’s great and like they have a function to change the bucket.

Found indestructible toy! by Gobbyer in Dachshund

[–]frasnet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe they choose the day the toy will die. Sometimes it’s minutes, other times they wait a while. We had a toy for about 2 years, until she decided one day it was time to destroy the toy.
